ROTF Mirage

I wanted to do a character from G1 who has never had much recent attention.
And instead of doing a Tracks or a red Sideswipe (which I did want to do) I
decided to make an old guy new again in a new form and with new life, I
figured since the Alternators version wasn't an Indy car, I didn't have to make
Mirage out of one either.

So here is Mirage movie style, I don't have much sculpting exp. so the head
is the same, but I really like Swipes head anyway so no biggie.

I hope the detail I gave him shows through in the pics, and I know the
paint on the body is a little rough, for some reason the paint didn't dry well
and it got messed up so I had to touch him up, I may do another to fix the
issues but I still think he came out good. I did ad springs to his leg pistons
and painted the door lines for a more detailed look, and also gave him the "26"
on the hood for the tribute to his G1 self.

speaking of which, I threw in my G1 Mirage for some companion shots.

my second custom Mirage, I used the same paint on both.

I did manage to coax some better pics from my phone, after playing with
the settings..... I hope these pics look better to you guys than previously.

and after seeing the movie today, damn!!!!! I love the new movie line better than
the last.

Mirage like than Tracks. the bot mode is colored nothing like Tracks, he
looks more Mirage(ish) in that mode.

i ment nothing but that the mold is more trax like,i see the colors match, even for side swipe it looks trax-ish.you did a wonderfull good job looks really good dont get me wrong buddy. i just see trax the whole transformation, the car model. i also see that the new toys only transfers name and not makes and models from g1 so mirage can be any one so to speak,any fast looking transformer car. i see your vision i feel you. i made dragstrip a motorcycle,and razorclaw a raptor,rampage a cheeda. i stand by you did a great job, and also by i see trax weather sideswipe or anything els

u did an amazing job it looks like you put your 100% effort into this i like the head even though u didnt sculpt it is is amazing

I didn't take it bad what you said, I agree the Corvette mold
don't say Sideswipe to me either. I like the mold though, makes
a unique and different Transformer.

Mirage is one of my favorite characters so I wanted to make
an homage to him, and this is the only mold that seemed to make
sense.

I never realized that it looked like mirage! I guess your great painting skills helped that! This is an awesome mold. I think we are going to see a lot of those G1 cars out of this mold. Really just want to see a Wheeljack.
