well here is my submission to the dog pile. anyways more pictures to come later and also two extra weapons to show as well. oh and yes my pics are trying to get better   also some minor touch ups here and there.

That shade of red looks great on the figure, and the paintjob looks very smooth!

IMHO it would look better with some more red on the bot parts. The alt mode color always appears on the armor panels in bot mode for most (if not all) of the movie characters.  

 

Is that transparent red over silver or an orange pearl over red? Looks nice.

I also agree a little more red on the bot parts would only help the look. Because it looks good now!!

 

Ok, the red looks good but the dirt splotches on the face do not match up with him at all, try to carry some of that clean grey and white to his face and maybe make the red on his torso less pronounced, break it up maybe with some dark flat greys. your painting skills are there so good job, and as always, its just my opinion.

aggreed however i was going for a heavy g1 feel more than the movie

i used testors gold metalizer as the base and testors transparent candy apple red for the top then gloss coat. the gold is why you see the orange tint it looks different in person it is a striking red does not appear orangeish

i think it is due to the extream close up i did not notice it so much until after the photos. i think i will mute that a little when do the minor touch ups. oh wait are you talking about the dry brushed spots? like around the horns because that is gold to look as if his head is made from some kind of alloy. i thought you were refering to the speckals. either way if that is what it conveys i should consider changing it.

He looks really nice. May need some red to break up the legs though
