ROTF Ravage with Light Up Eye WIP UPDATE Here's what I've been working on the last 2 days. I've added a red light inside ROTF Deluxe Ravage. It may not look like a heavy mod, but it is. The entire inside of the head, neck and torso has been reworked to accommodate the light, batteries and on/off switch. The light came from a Dollar Tree Twisters light up top made by ToyBox Unlimited. The only drawback (if you want to call it one) to adding the light is the neck no longer extends out like before. I have also started adding details to the head like covering the pin inside his mouth with something a little closer to the blaster barrel on the CGI model. Also added a few more pointy things to the sides of his head. I still need to add new, nastier teeth. Otherwise, this guy's ready for paint. When I do go to paint, I will take a few more pics of the mods made to the insides. I was just so glad I actually got him all back together with all the reworked guts, I didn't take him back apart to photograph today. Thanks for taking a look! EDIT 06-22-09: NEW PICS... EDIT 06-23-09: 90% COMPLETED PICS
HAHHA MAN WE POSTED AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!! Great minds think alike. I can't wait to see your art finished bro!!! ohhhhhh. I like the inside of the mouth!!!! Nice touch!!!
Wacky timing! I have a little more to button it all up, but should have him painted this weekend. You're is very cool! Thanks for your kind words.
man! You nd encline both have some amazing mods for Ravage!!! and the little switch on the neck is a very nice touch but from what iv seen soo far from both of you Ravage is a B!%@# to take apart lol Wish me luck
Not a huge pain to take apart. Just lots of parts. Carving up the insides while preserving all the outer parts is where things get a little tricky. I still need to cut the switch down to and close off the ends to better mimic the original part that was cut away.
I'm sending out a BIG THANKS to you and Encline for paving the way here, and getting through all the dirty work! I must do this mod when I grab Rvage! Can't wait for paint!!
UPDATE 06-22-09: New Pics. A few more pics of the head. New teeth and head details and a shot of the reworked neck with light. Painting underway now...
UPDATE 06-23-09: Painting 90% Complete. Other than the final details and weathering, painting is almost finished. Based with Tamiya German Gray. Next coat of Tamiya Silver Leaf. Panel lined with Dark Battle gray. Several coats of dry brushed Steel, Aluminium, Chrome, Golds, etc. Given several washes of black and coffee brown inks. He's still a little too clean looking for my tastes, so I'll be getting to that shortly. Just wanted to post a few more progress pics. Thanks for taking a look!
