Well, the way I figure it is that both canisters are used as battery packs (the small disc ones, kinda like the ones used for hearing aids). Though I'm still clueless as to how I can cut the back  

 

Good call, the smallest hearing aid batteries are size A-10, really tiny but only 1.4v You would need at least three to power a standard LED.

I just looked at the cans closer, if you hollowed them out and found a small 3v button battery (can't think of the size right now) you should be able to get 18v per can, for 36v system.

Remember guys, although an LED needs 3v, if you run them in parallel (as opposed to series) you can hook many up to a single battery with the trade off being battery life. 

 

just another point you could add lights to are the little bumps on the bottom of the back of the blue part of the truck, right above the gass canisters

 

wow, imagine what you can do with 36v.

@clankratchet, I think those are meant to be bolts, man.

 

I think he means along the lower part of the sleeper box (there's stripes of panel lights which go down the sides of the truck)

gahh! that's not prime, that's the ebay truck! but I know the lights you mean.

 

I see... Are those suppose to light up? IMO, you shouldn't put lights on those areas because it will make the truck (and Optimus in robot mode) looks like Christmas Tree.

another one i had while looking at my rotf prime, what about the mech alive gears, just a thought since they're not in the movie, but the big circle in the middle of the big cylindrical part of the mech alive gears could be blue, kinda making it look as close as possible to the matrix of leadership, kinda like the masterpiece primes, but the like the movie matrix of leadership

well, it kinda doesn't make sense in that regard, but more of the concept really, its as close as you could get, i actually might do it to mine

Wow, I dont know how you do it man, crazy stuff. Would you recommend a resistor for just a single red 3mm LED? I've got everything else I need, just wondering how to squeeze as much battery life as possible.
