Prime is on Ebay now, if anyone wants to check him out!!!
    Prime on Ebay

I say 90% accurate, but give or take....

I know the mold is missing details and has some slightly inaccurate details
but I did the best I could do by studying the movie, and what detail the
mold had...which was a lot to work with. so after a week and a few miscolors
to correct along the way, I give you movie Optimus Prime finished & almost
    accurate....

EDIT: 6/22 updated the last 6 pics to show the final flame outlines & other
small details I added. I painted the tail lights, reoutlined the flames, added
detail to the inner pack, painted the metal in the forearms silver & added
a few more brassy copper details to the upper body and arms

Nice. If you added chrome he'd be 96% accurate.

yeah the chrome issue....:mad , that is one thing that annoys me, I really
wanted chrome, the truck looks so bad ass in the movie, and that would
have set it off so nicely.... but alas I had to use what I had at hand.

I don't like the generic chrome paints and can't afford the realistic stuff....

I wouldnt call Alclad generic, if done right it can look just as good as real chrome. You just need an airbrush to apply it...but if you havnt got one then you are kinda screwed lol.

I've gone the airbrushed alclad route, and while my results were ok, they weren't near waht freanzy_rumble or sabsabby have done, but I think that's due to the fact that I'm using a not so fabulous airbrush too..

I only have a cheapo airbrush and baby compressor that doesnt even have adjustable pressue settings and i can get awesome results (which i'll be posting soon). Its all in the application and technique. Ask around im sure you'll get some good answers. Id help out myself but im crap at explaining things in text form

I'm not saying that my results are horrible, just that they aren't great, ya know? Idk, I'd rather pay to have the super awesome chrome of bombatron on my prime :D  now I just need to find time to actually disassemble the parts to be chromed..

I painted some extra robot heroes a few years back and I mess
with them all the time, the paint has never worn off, or flaked.
as well as my first Thundercracker I made back when the classics
came out from a Skywarp, the nose cone is still fully covered and
still as brilliant as day one.

...the stacks will fair just as well, I don't see why not, besides for me
he is totally a display piece, maybe going back in his box, but posed
normally and without all the ties. if not in his box in my display case.

acrylic is some pretty tough paint when dried and cured even on
soft plastics and rubber, I used to use all enamels when building model
cars, but recently when starting to customize Transformers, I quickly
realized Enamels were crap, and started using acrylics, I just need to
restock on them as I am running out and the paints are getting old.

Well, hopefully you're correct sir. Just seems that the stacks are really soft rubbery plastic. I'm no trying to attack you or anything, I'm just kind of going by what I've seen and heard ya know?

Hey man, i just noticed something (correct me if im just imagining it) but you added pin-stripes to primes flames which are actually the correct scale! Thats why i didnt notice them at first because they are so tiny just like they are in the movie. I swear i can see them so im not imagining it am i?! lol. If i am its because of the photos cos i definately see a tiny line around the flames...
If not though how did you get such a tiny line?!

I painted the lines as thin as possible, they are a little thicker than they
appear in the pics, but what I did is after painting I took a toothpick just
as the paint set and scraped off the excess paint until it was thin enough
to been seen, one other thing though for what ever reason the pics are off
and the lines are actually metallic sapphire blue, like the movie pinstripes
actually are, well at least they're a lighter shade of blue in the pics and
    on film.

i'm actually going back over them a little, some of the shots I guess the light
is not reflecting right and they don't look like they're there, I never noticed
that until you brought it up. besides I have to resort to my phone camera,
my Kodak took a dump and I can't get another camera yet, when I do I plan
on retaking all my custom pics and hopefully submitting galleries....if you guys think
    my work is submittable enough...
