Nice. I like that a lot of these ROTF figures have really simple mods that make them a lot better, but I have to wonder why HasTak couldn't have figured it out in the first place.
I might do this when I get mine. I'm just scared that I might burn through more of the plastic then I should.
Or you could use some good wire cutters, which make gripping easier. Thats how I did mine. Also while your at it try the leg mod. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-general-discussion/239915-rotf-rampage-leg-mod.html
They usually do. They have to step back from some things though, because of restrictions on parts count, safety, or other costs. Removing articulation reduces assembly costs, for example. Nice of them to leave the engineering in place, though, instead of packing in tons of extra solid plastic. It makes this mod easy, and so, so awesome. Thanks, F-R!
I did both the leg mod and the arm mod within 10 minuted (I was also playing GoW2 with a friend) it's that simple. With time I'll also try and see if I can give him even more articulation. But I won't start painting and modding until after I've seen the movie! iDD
Hey, nice work FR! I was directed to this post after posting an elbow fix of my own just now. I ended up modding the lower large gear for an elbow tho so I wasn't copying ya or anything. COol mod!
This is a great mod. Used a dremel tool and some sand paper. Had the whole thing done in about 10 minutes. Thanks FR. Has anyone combined this with Jin's wrist mod? I'd like to try it but am afraid it may compromise the structural integrity of the arm in alt mode.
