original after mod Over on another thread, Boggs mentioned the lack of articulation in Rampages arms. I had to grab mine and check. Whoa! that sucks! 5 minutes later, I bring you one of the easiest mods to add elbows to this guy. 3 basic tools needed; screwdriver, x-acto knift, disposable lighter.
That is awesome! I was looking at that spot too but didn't think I could do anything about it. The more I play with this figure the more I love it. ...fire indeed hot.
Exactly what I did! I used my jeweler's saw, the hot knife trick is cool! I'm working also on a "bipedal" leg mod on mine, not screen accurate but more inline with my concept. Great job F_R, and good of you to share!
Awsome! Thanks FR! finally Rampage has movment in his arms!!! Now how do you do the Sideswipe Mode that involves the springs?
i just took him apart at the waist to get at his waist spring, i removed it and the legs seperate by a peg, i did the exacto knife and heat method and cut part of the peg of so now each of his legs can move individually instead of both moving at the same time when ever you would move one. just need to add some super glue or something to tighten up the leg on the left. i can add pics later but with this and the elbow thing will make him much more poseable.
it's possible...another solution would be using a tack nail as a flat headed pin. drop some glue into the orange part, just a touch where the nail reaches into the hole, then put the arm back together and put the pin/nail in.
This elbow mod rocks! But it's looks like you stole my blue-prints on this mod because this the same mod I was talking about on monday when you start your other thread: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radic...055-definitive-rotf-reference-pic-thread.html Except for using the hot knife method it's the samething I did. And also this leg mod method works realy well to. After adding super glue to the pegs to tighten up the legs.
Aside from posting your intentions, where is your actual "blueprints" to your modification(s)? I don't think that's a "blueprint", per se. If you have wip photos or something more, I think we'd all enjoy seeing what you've done
Read this thread, went and did it. Simple and effective tutorial--great find! I love the way Rampage looks now. I was drawn to this figure anyway, but this little bit of added articulation really sells him.
Thanks for the awesome tutorial F_R! I am tempted to do this elbow mod but am considering trying to create an elbow down further at the gear area instead. Or maybe I'll try both? Super articulated arms!
Thanks dude! now i can do a stopmotion reenacting the fight scene in Egypt! but i went a different route with cutting. Used a strong pair of scissors. That could be a substitute for people who don't like being close to fire while holding a blade
This mod does not affect the alt mode, does it? Does the arm try to "fold up" while the tread is stretched over it?
