This is a continuation of "Who will this be," another thread of mine where I was brainstorming this figure. The MW Sandstorm head arrived today, courtesy of blue_death of the forums(thanks a ton Jordan), so I thought I'd get down and dirty. After a bit of carving on the bottom of the head, I fitted a ball joint then attached said ball to the tank. I messed around with some different ideas for the shield, finally settling on what you see here. As seen in my old thread, I fitted Optimus' arms from the 2-pack to Meg's body and turned the smokestacks around making them into small guns. 6/3/09: All Primered up and nowhere to go(till tonight, when the brushes come out ): 6/4/09: The brushes came out, progress! The concept:
Diggin' it! The whole thing looks great and the parts work very well together! Agreed if you could make the neck appear shorter without sacrificing range of motion too much it would be pretty perfect!
Thanks fellers! I'll snap better pictures after getting some shut-eye, it's been another long day. He'll be all painted up soon enough
overall it looks awesome, but I can't help but feel that the old-school rifle doesn't look anything like a massive tank barrel.
Because he's an itsy-bitsy tank, silly Seriously though, he's not intended to appear as a massive tank with a huge turret and the like, just a small scout vehicle with "light" weaponry. Thanks for the compliment though!
Thanks a ton! The head is from Machine Wars Sandstorm. It was at the suggestion of blue_death from the forums, and he also was kind enough to donate his to me. It really captures the young look I wanted for Roller!
Thanks guys! That's a couple of pieces from TakaNuva, a large Bionicle set. I removed all the kibble from the Bionicle guy because I only wanted the "skeleton" for a LARGE upcoming TF proejct. The pieces were quite convenient for this guy
When do we get paint? I wanna see some more of this bad mammer jammer!!! Who'da thunk Roller was such a bada$$!!
He's on my kitchen table drying, looking like a black and white movie! He's drybrushed in silver, if that didn't make sense Tomorrow comes the blue...I have to consider the paint scheme...what color is his helmet going to be???
