This is awesome! Who cares about extra baggage? F_R's been making combiners with extra baggage for ages and no one ever moans about it, so why start bitching? Its just how these things have to work or else you end up with silly see-through plastic claws for hands like on classics devastator.

What are those hands from?

LOL.... Are you joking?

this looks good though, nice to see a fresh take on the figures you're using as the planes. FYI, giving you a 4 star rating, only cause there's an excess of kibble, even for my taste hehe. There's always the easier way, but there's also the way you can eliminate as much (as possible) for extra parts. I aim for feet, forearms, upper legs, chest plate, head. Personally, anything beyond that and there's more kibble than Transformers

Lol...there are lot of people here that have made it clear they don't like combiners with all of the extra parts. F_R has dealt with this criticism many times before.

many, many, times. lol. And as I "evolve" I learn new tricks to eliminate as many as possible. Like the OP said, proportion is very important, however it's always more important to keep a good balance between extra parts + proportion. I've seen many combiners where the figures are lost behind extra parts, ones where the extra parts outweigh the actual figures. It's easy to attach deluxe figures to a frame then clip on hands, feet, knees, chest plates, and a million other parts until it looks like a combiner. however on the other side of the coin, I will never sacrifice the key extra parts to make 10% of those who see my custom happy. I'd rather have solid looking proportions and a few extra parts rather than no extra parts and a weak looking gestalt mode with thin legs and limited range/articulation in the legs and arms.

i think making a gestalt should be focused on proportions, but having the kibbles to a minimum.

Damn! He is awesome! I don't mind all the parts because he looks great! I see Cyberton, Unicron, and it looks like Cybetron Starscream's legs. Just AWESOME!
