I'm fairly new to the board (Been lurking for a month or so), and have finally gotten up the gusto to start this guy. The A-10 Thunderbolt II, aka Warthog, has been shamefully redesigned in to a horrid looking Thor instead of a decent Powerglide.
This is an intense project, and I have a lot of plans for him. I haven't started tearing up the fuselage yet due to a few design restrictions (notably the hips, which I am working on), but I figured I would give you all a taste!
I have yet to see a custom A-10 that actually transforms, or for that matter a Powerglide. Who can resist this egotistical wonder? If anyone has any ideas, or would like to show their Powerglide Pride, do it here.
Please keep in mind that this is a COMPLETE redesign, done in honor of Powerglide, and not an attempt to resemble ANY of the previous models. Thus the additional leg joint and the engines being shoulder-mounted instead of leg-mounted.
**UPDATE** 05-27-09
Not too much in the way of building accomplished today, but I did acquire some star wars kibble and have FINALLY gotten the secret of their missile launcher technology hacked. Now I can go on to create INFINITE weapon launchers of unbridled distance and power by reverse-engineering their pitiful lasers....
Below is the simplicity of their inner workings revealed, along with a minor update to the jetpack
Also, I will be posting all of the updates to the front page instead of as new posts.
**Update 5-28-09**
The launchers are complete and fit perfectly inside of the engine block. Now I need to add the sliders to allow the launchers to push out about an inch and become shoulder cannons. I''m actually really happy about how this is coming together and this is probably going to be one of my favorite portions of the model. |

I currently have two scale airplane/transformer customs in progress. One is Starscream in WWII guise, the other is very large...and I won't give more away on him |

My brain was racing one day and twisted itself around the idea. I'll go so far as to say that my other scratch built aircraft TF is more current |

I was quite impressed by the fact that they included all of the old west legends like Mark Twain and John Henry. Attached are a few concept artworks to make ya drool.
Good luck with your WWII series, and who knows, if I finish this one I might just be motivated enough to join you! |

I actually have a nice idea for a WWII Optimus, as well as WWII Megs. Both will be time-consuming as can be, and may be a long time coming(from me, anyway). |
