Constructicons, transform and DEVASTATE!

He's done, he's frigging done after thirteen months of on-and-off. After countless long evenings. After many injured fingers at the hands of X-acto knives. After entire evenings of peeling super glue and epoxy off of fingers. He's done.

Guys, he may not have been the first(though one of the first in progress, following Ptitvite's lead). He may not be the best. He may not go on Ebay and muster bids in the thousands of dollars. But, he's mine.

I really hope you enjoy him as much as me, from the head carved from a golf ball to the unorthodox Mixmaster, to the "cartoon realistic(my term for cartoon color scheme, with 'realistic' weathering)" paint job:

I'll take more shots this evening for sure, I couldn't get the whole fellow into my el cheapo backdrop! I appreciate the comment, and will take more pictures in a bit.

Wow. 13 months. Longer than it takes to make a baby.
The paint is great. The connections look strong. The bots look good! The chest piece is great. I am actually using the wings for mine too now. I think it would look better a little higher. I know you put a lot of work into the head, but I think just a bit more sanding would help finish off the look!!
Over all, really good.

Great work on this, man. I really dig the colors, the paintjob, and the hard work put into it all (including sculpting that head, which probably wasn't too easy). I think the only think I don't like much about it is the open mouth and the way the visor doesn't wrap completely around--BUT, having said that, I will also say that it still looks great. The overall shape of the head and everything is perfect, it's just the minor things that would look even better if touched up. Don't think I'm knocking it, man--I admire that you actually sculpted something different from Ptitvite and the SSS heads that are usually used. The neck also looks a little thin in that first shot, but great from every other angle. And to wrap it up, I like that you took Mixmaster in a different direction than most.

In the end, this is your Devastator and you did it like you wanted. As long as you love it, you're all set, bro. I've had one in the works for over a year (been planning it and working SLOWLY on it since Ptitvite shared his masterpiece with us a long while back--so I definitely feel your pain when it comes to taking a while to work on customs and finding time in between work and personal stuff--I have TONS of that going on 24/7, so I do what I can, when I can). Keep up the great work!

I really appreciate the heartfelt feedback. The neck is an easy fix that I'll tackle tonight. While I agree that it isn't visible from any but the right angle, it's something I noticed in the photo too.

The head, well that's something I made over a year ago specifically for this custom. I made it while watching the '86 movie and remember settling on the open mouth after seeing Devs make the same expression while smashing through Autobot City. Cheesy, sure, but I love the look on his face. I'll see what I can do about the visor, it's something that for some reason never struck me.

I'm glad you can empathize with the issues of time vs. hobbies. It's hard for one to grasp unless they experience the same hustle and bustle of life. I look forward to seeing what comes of your Devs and other customs(If you're anything like me there are a dozen half-finished laying about).
