He's finished. Movieverse Roller, in my mind, isn't a mindless drone made to scout ahead and warn of trouble. Instead he's a calm and collected rolling arsenal who finds that trouble and dispatches it, often before the cavalry arrives. This is my first officially-completed kitbash. There are several others sitting on my desk in various stages of completion. I hope you guys like him, and feedback is both encouraged and appreciated. "My work here is done."
Thanks! He's actually made from Movie Wreckage, so is deluxe in size. He fits in nicely with Voyager Prime from the '07 Movie. Thanks for the kind words. If you mean the small gaps in the body panels, I was being wary of the fairly-fresh clearcoat
Very nice, man! I really like the shade of blue you used and the head is awesome. I also like the decals you added (did you print the ones that F_R emailed you and do them yourself? or did you go with something else?) For a first "officially-completed" kitbash, you did a great job, bro.
Thanks a bunch! The blue is Testors Model Masters "Blue Angel Blue." I saw it in the store and knew it was the right shade for Roller. The decals are based off of the basic Autobot and Decepticon templates that Mike sent to me, sized and colored to suit. I actually had larger 'Bot symbols made for Roller's flanks and flubbed them at the last moment, so I went with the backup plan. It's hard to see in the fourth photo above, but those are 'Con symbols with lightning bolts through them, to signify the 'Cons that Roller has slagged in combat. I'll try to get a clearer shot later.
I love this mold, a fine job you'v done sir. Ilike the new weapon and its place in altmode is very menacing. some more robot mode pics would be stellar
More pictures in the first post. After much consideration, all this guy needs to please me are some Gundam-style hands.
This is great work man. The head looks fitting. I am however getting a strong Crossovers Cobra Trooper vibe off him too, which adds alot of awesome.
Thanks for the kind words folks. I look forward to you late-nighters' comments/suggestions. If Ptitvite is out there, I look forward to those comparison shots of the casted hands, this guy may need a pair
Thanks again for the kind words. An old saying goes "Frustration is the beginning of creativity"; this was one of those times. I was sitting on the floor getting bored with the sheer amount of engineering going into a couple of other customs when I looked at my bookshelf and inspiration struck. I suppose the next logical step is some detail work on Voyager Movie Prime, then perhaps a trailer for him.
Hah, I suppose he could be ol' Soundwave with tweaking. Don't give me any more ideas, I can't have more robots lying in pieces on my desk or the wife will kill me ^^.
I just got this mold courtesy of a good friend, and I like where you've gone with this. Really nice detail and color.
Yessir, it's a favorite of mine for sure. The only thing it really lacks is a bit of shoulder articulation due to the armor there. I'll definitely be replacing this one with a stock one, and picking up the ROTF repaint.
