The piece will then basically "snap" right into the Prime bicep area. BUT, once KB Toys threw everything on clearance and closed shop, I picked another Prime/Megs 2-pack up to use the parts for 'bashing. I then took the extra Megs shoulder/bicep joint and used them (both good ones--since one arm was basically the cannon and useless). I used the regular shoulders that came on the first Megatron, but swapped in the inside shoulder piece from the other Megatron, then snapped in the Megatron bicep areas. Then I unscrewed the Prime forearms and screwed them into the Megatron elbow/joint.
Either way will work. So if you have two Megs to work with, it's easier, but if you only have the one, you can simply shave a bit down on the Megs elbow/bicep connection to allow it to snap into Prime's shoulder joint. Hope this makes sense--it's easier to understand if you're looking at it. If you need any pics or help on it, hit me with a PM and I'll take some shots and send them, bro. Quote:

I'm not rushing anything on this and I've just been chugging along with it for a while now. As for Vortex, I had something planned out (even posted a WIP here back December, BUT since then, I've had some new ideas flowing and I just may do something completely different for Vortex than originally planned. Just haven't decided yet.
Thanks for the support guys! Hopefully I can do some more work on the Combaticons soon. |

I did finish up Swindle's head--modded with strips of styrene--and I added the part of the two-pack Megatron tank feed to his shoulders to give them more bulk and depth. I also snapped a clearer/better shot of both Swindle and Brawl (since the older shots were too bright or washed out). I've since changed my mind on Vortex and I think I have something else in mind (still working the kinks out), but I'm planning to use the Marvel Crossovers Spider-Man helicopter (came with the Iron Man in the two-pack). It's closer to voyager size, but if I can either find some better legs or build the lower legs smaller with styrene, I think I can shorten it to something closer to deluxe size and still leave the top half (and arms) as-is so they'll transform the same. I considered trying to do a G1 transformation out of him, but still can't decide if I'll go that route or stick to what I mentioned above (I don't have any shots of this yet, since I'm still deciding how I want to play it).
For now, here are some shots to show the Brawl head better.....just pay no attention to the spiderweb that is strung up between Brawl's head and shoulder (can you tell it's been a while since I did anything on it?)--lol. Enjoy, guys--hopefully I'll get more done on this project soon. |

I need to get back on these and do more--been sidetracked with a few other customs lately (Universe Kup, Drift, and still trying to finish up my re-visit of my old Galvatron custom--making it better than it was). |
