how did i miss this update. wow, that's looking awesome. i LOVE the size of him. i wish i could hold him dang, that's going to be nice
Well, of course! Altenrators/Binal Tech =/= 1:1 of G1 ; MP is closer to that ratio comparison/correlation since that's the intent of the line.
Oh, Im not through doing G1s, Ill at least finish the Autobot Car line, but I really like the challenge of designing, and building TFs without the restrictions of an existing figure. Ill probably stay with building G1 homage figures at 1/24 scale. And to be honest, im having more fun with scratch building, even though the payoff isn't as quick.
Crazy,i dont really understand HOW youre doing what youre doing this is waaay beyond my tiny mind but you know keep doing it. This is going to be insane.
insane in the membrain! this is going to be so awesome, i wish i could fast forward to the future, just to see this!
Updated with some WIP head pics, still some touching up to do, and the eyes. Im not sure im totally happy with it yet, I still might try another face. This was my first scratch built head, I used styrene, although next time I might try sculpting putty.
So far, this looks great! Not sure I'm a fan of the mouth, but it's a minor personal taste thing. I may change my mind once it's painted and detailed. Look forward to seeing more.
Outstanding work! You symmetry with small cuts are great, do you use micrometers for those tiny measurements? Styrene cutter board? A little insight to your tool kitwould be apprecieated, as I am an aspiring scratch builder!
Oh, yeah, micromerers are your friend. My most used tools becides that consist of a piece of masonite to cut on, fine point sharpie, a hobby saw, x-acto knife, flat edge/square, a strong set of sissors, a Dremel, small files, and a pin vice. I also have a set of small clamps that comes in handy when making multiple pieces symetrical.
It's so amazing to see some of the things people scratch build from styrene. The head sculpt is incredible. How do you do this?
