Here are My Classics Autobot Clones: Cloudraker and Fastlane. They are both made using Universe Brakedown.

Fastlane is basically just a repaint with a few exceptions. His head was molded from an Energon Blackout and the spoiler is off of a Universe Downshift. The gun had the spring blade removed and the barrel was cut off of one of the guns from Energon Windrazor (the rest of the gun would be used for Cloudraker).

Cloudraker has heavier modifications. The entire front of the dragster was removed as well as the back wheels. (Originally I was going to use him in this conditon as a base for a War Within Bumblebee, but when I saw him next to the unaltered Brakedown, I knew I had to make the clones instead). I attached the nosecone off of a Movie Air Raid mold that I was using for a kitbash of G1 Cylconus' buddy Armada. I used Mighty Putty to fill in the gaps between the nosecone and Brakedown's driver's seat and also used the putty to sculpt the robot shoulders. The wings were cut off of a KO G1 Skydive, cut into a rectangular shape and attached with a screw. His head was also molded from an Energon Blackout and the gun is what was left over from the Energon Windrazor gun that I cut for Fastlane.

The red and tan paint were both custom mixed from Testors Enamel. The black is flat black and the silver and gold are just silver and gold.

As I said, I had never planned this and it was just a freaky coincidence that I came up with the "plane-like" mode. And I was just going to use it for a WW style Bumblebee. So I can't really say that I ever thought about using Brakedown for them before that moment, I just happened to surprise myself with how well it worked.

Yup, that was the only real downside of this mold. That's why I painted Cloudraker's shoulders black to slightly match. Takes away from the G1 color scheme, but a necessary evil. Plus he works out alot.

Thanks, this is the first time I have posted in Radicons and not been told that the bash would be good if the paintjob was better. I've always had a great deal of trouble with the paintjob on my bashes looking crappy. I think for this bash I was able to better control the brush on details and minimize visual brush strokes. I'm still nowhere near the level I want to be, but this was the first paintjob that I have been somewhat happy with. Guess I'll just keep on practicing and hopefully improve more. So thanks again for the compliment.

Well Thanks. But I personally like the clone bashes using Classics Mirage that a few people have done here. I would love to "copy" some of those, but I have an unwritten rule about not bashing the same character twice, so I am happy with mine as part of my Classics display.

Inspired work my friend! I used Mirage for a more "real world" Classics look. But without a doubt, this invokes more of a G1 feel! Bravo!:thumbs2:

These guys came out great. Looks like you put in quite a bit of work with your mods, very impressive how you were able to engineer two different and believable alt modes out of the same base.
