Ok, so.. I am newe to this site, but since I've taken, a much keener interest in transformers after the movie ( and I have made sure to watch some g1 too ) I felt like joining. So ...yea...

What I am posting here is what I hope to be a cooler version of megatron's 2007 form than the leader class. What I am to do with this is:

    make sure the head is hidden in jet mode;
make the legs less obvious in jet mode
Make the wings collapse more in robot mode
    and
makethe wingspan larger, in jet mode

    So here's the head sculpt

and this is a picture if what I've built so far , in jet mode.

I know there is, some sort of quota on the number of pics per post , so i will stop at these two

    EDIT:
Well, the links didn't work; good thing I still had the pictures saved though !

You can post more just don't post a ridiculous amount. Post more pics as you progress with your project to show us the timeline of work

    Looking good so far.

Shouldn't you put this in the radicons section or whatever it is? I am sure that portion of the community here would have a lot more appreciation for it. Not that we don't appreciate it here, but that is usually where these kinds of projects are expected to be found :)

Are you making this out of paper?

yeah, I know he is going to be a tank, but I wasn't getting the opportunity to do this ... and when I started this , way back in December, I didn't know about the tank mode yet.
That's why I want to finish this quickly, before it becomes irrelevant.

Considering you're doing this with paper, I'd say that was a helluva job...

Hats off to your efforts, amazed yer gonna make this thing transform.
And nothing this difficult (no printed sheet or pattern - yikes) could ever be irrelevant.
    Keep us posted...

Thanks for the comments and tips so far guys. I'm working on the legs now. After the legs , all I remain is the nose cone for the jet mode. I know its been a few days since I posted my first few pics, but... this takes time and care, to get it to look right.
And now that the Christmas is over, I can only work on this on week ends.

I "might" be ready to post some pics on tuesday , or Friday. By then, the legs should be recogniseable.

Its not just paper. Its cardboard stuck onto a wire frame.

    update on the legs

Here's just a quick post of where I am at. There are some notes on the pictures, but just in case the writing is too small.

Of course you will notice that its not silvered out yet. That's because I am building it in layers. When I am satisfied with the leg sculpt; I will paint over the yellow cardboard for it to appear dirty-gold; and then add the silver bits over it , to give that layered-look.

"Points of articulation are circled in black."

And the knees will be double jointed.. it is necessary for the transformation. But the extra knee joint will be locked, or at least severely hinded, in robot mode.. in other words.. in robot mode, the kness will function normally.

I don't wanna give away the transformation so, I won't elaborate mode about that.

    This thread will be renamed

Well..someone has taken the liberty of moving this to the radicons section, while at the same time warning me a bout double posts. As, this now means that i have 2 posts of the same thing, in the same section.

So in the spirit of not angering the powers that be, I will delete this one.

So if you are looking for updates , look for a thread entitled : " Megatron as of 2007 "
