Iron Man Movie: Iron Monger

Hi everyone! With the new movie coming soon and with it new figures I was pretty dissapointed with the paint jobs.(or lack there of) Next up of many is the Iron Monger, the figure lacked the look of metal and was really just brown plastic. I primed him with Black Krylon Fusion and used a new paint that I was told about called Alclad II Lacquer, it is intended for model planes to simulate real metal and comes in various finishes. I used Stainless Steel for this big guy and I have to admit this stuff rocks, up close it really looks like metal not just paint. This is one of nine figures that I will be repainting using the movie line figures. Thanks for looking! Check out link for full gallery with bigger pictures--> Linky

That's a pretty cool looking robot, nice paint job man. Really like the streaks in the thighs.

Thanks, the alclad goes on really thin so I had to try and figure out which way the brush strokes would look best, Glad you like.

Blimey, he's a chubber, in't he?

Nicely done, Tone. I've only got the chrome Alclad, but it really is brilliant stuff. Seems everyone's got into it around the same time...

He is really heavy for an action figure, finished him before the wifey saw it and made her thing it was real metal. Funny think about the stuff is when F_R used it on Jazz, my local store just started carrying the full line of Alclad II products.

Blimey, that is a coinkydink. Because I'd been pondering getting the stuff for ages, and finally ordered some , I think a day or two before F_R posted Jazz...
