I'd buy sets for Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp and Thrust. Acidstorm as well if they were the same color as the ones on the back of his packaging.

 

That looks like an interesting idea and I think it might work out well, A Nice spin on G1 with a Classic/Timelines/Universe Twist. (As in a good way.)

I've just test-fitted one of my G1 guns in a Classics launcher, and it looks okay, so this could work well.

I think personally, though, I'd rather see you reproduce G1 Seeker launchers, which would be doubly useful as they could be used to restore old G1 figs as well as fitting Classics.
I can see how that'd be more complex, though, so I guess it'd be a matter of whether the extra potential custom offsets the extra expense of production.

One problem I might see with this is that that the hole where the the Classic seeker launcher has gotten bigger as noted with Henkei Thunder Cracker. Manufacturinging launchers for differing sized arm holes could have its problems. It would be much easier to just manufacture the lasers to fit into the Classic launchers... good idea though.

 

The holes have got bigger? That seems stupid. Therein lies the flaw of not sticking with standardised peg holes.  

 

It's not an intentional difference in the mold as far as I've read, sounds like mold degradation instead.

I'd be interested in something like this, but I have my doubts about the initial mockup. The portion in the middle of it with what looks like a screw hole seems to be too thick to look decent in the launchers. A physical mockup displayed in a launcher on an actual Classic Seeker will probably help me judge the final look better, and whether or not I'd want it.

Custom Classics Roadbuster parts I made. Any intrest in these?

 

Definately! One of my main gripes about all of these repaints is that the head should fit the character (in addition to the weapons).

 

Ooh, that would actually make Universe Roadbuster worth getting.

 

Sorry to hijack the thread but Nato (same guy who made the TFA Prime Ax) is working on an upgrade/conversion kit for the Target exclusive Roadbuster. It'll include a kit to convert the head to a more G1 look (done without actually having to remove the entire head, just the visor portion since it's a biatch to remove the entire head), 2 guns designed to resemble his G1 guns, and a backpack that fits in his cybertron key slot. Hopefully prototypes will be done soon and he'll have something to show.

 

I recently got my G1 Ultra Magnus missle launchers and missiles in the mail from Darkov and I have to say I am very impressed with the quality. A few things I did want to point out are that when putting the missle launchers into the City Commander shoulders, they are a bit loose. I was able to correct this by adding really thick super glue to the ends of the launchers and let them dry.....I wonder if the CC sets holes were machined too big for the G1 parts......Also, the missiles do not stay in securely by themselves......(I was already planning on glueing them in anyway) so you may want to glue them in. Other than that, I saw no crookedness to the pieces and they are of some of the nicest quality repro parts I've ever seen.

I have original launchers from G1 and one fits nicely but the other is a bit loose so it may very well be the City Commander holes being a tad too big rather than the repro pegs being too small.

 

This is great news for the repro parts in this thread. sodawilly and I have been talking about his latest acquisition. I have some G1 launchers, but I don't have my City Commander set yet, and soda only has the set of launchers he got from Darkov here. We were wondering if it was the launchers and/or the CC set. I'm glad to know that these repros are such good quality

Would love to see the swords make for the BT/ALT line figs as well as the energon megatron sword with a hilt, those and Classics Seekers arm cannons.

 

Will the Classic Seeker guns go into the Classics Seekers launchers or will they snap into their arms/wings directly? I think they'd look a whole lot better if they connected directly instead of sliding into their launchers, this way you could actually have them aiming their cannons forward in bot mode without it being blocked by their wings. Just a thought.

 

On the subject of Classics guns, I would personally like to see something more along the lines of the weapons that come with the HOC figures; you know, the ones that look like the cartoon guns, just one solid piece? ...only scaled up to Classics (and maybe g1) size... A little hydrospan would do the job nicely  

 

Just FYI the classics seekers can use the launchers of the original. The peg holes are the same size, thats how all my seekers are being displayed right now (ramjet's looks a little weird though)

 

Could you attempt repro-ing Universe Nightstick once cyclonus comes out?
