4/7/09 Jeeze, has it been THAT long since I've worked on him? I suppose it has, and much has happened in terms of changes. Mixmaster, as you knew him, is retired to become another project. As much as I like the Barricade mold for this figure, it's just too floppy to be a lower leg for a 'bot that weighs six or seven pounds.

I like the new version, and hope you will too. I'm almost ready to start paint when the weather turns.

Very good MM! Will the cement drum be on the final Devs? Partsform? :thumbs2:

Yessir, I haven't made the attachment point for the drum yet, so I didn't bother to mock it up in Devy mode. The barrel actually spins, which is kinda neat and adds a play factor. It will also remove when MM is in 'bot mode, and become his weapon. I'm devising a slide-out gatling-style gun barrel setup as we type :)

EDIT: No one has picked up on the giant Devy rifle yet, I suppose it's not terribly visible in the shots. Also, a quick question: Does anyone feel his "wing" sits too low on the chest? I like Hook being more visible up there, but the tradeoff is that Longhaul disappears behind the thing.

Kewl! Now motorize the drum/gat and you'll be on your way!

As for the mold choice, cool also. Might I suggest removing the unnecessary rear cab and making a chute for the concrete to come out!:thumbs2:

Admittedly, I got a bit lazy the last few months. I couldn't wrap my mind around a sensible transformation for the Barricade-turned-Mixmaster; hence him being set aside for another project. The Heavy Load from Landfill was sitting there, fit the look of the other 'bots, and is quite sturdy; so I went with it.

Unfortunately, the rear cab houses MM's head. It's destined to become the engine housing I suppose.

Hey now! That's a pretty good idea there, Hobby Link Japan sells prefab vents that are rectangular. I have a pack, measure your cab windows, if I have a set that will fit I'll donate 'em to ya! The vents would make the cab look like an engine's hood.

    *EDIT* Here's a link and a pic:

Oh wow, those are cool! And here I was going to paint the windows all el cheapo :)

The vents could be as small as 3/8" H x 1/2" W(to fit inside the current window frames) or as large as 5/8" H x 3/4" W(to fit over the current window frames).

I've also got a spare RiD Hightower body on the way, with the intent of swapping the arms onto my Mixmaster. They have a "rear end of a truck" feel to them, moreso than Long Haul's arms, anyway.

that is a very cool design for Mixmaster, I really like the 6 wheels on him. How does the robot mode look?

I know man, I know. Rest assured, he'll be back reincarnated soon enough(as another character). I sacrificed another little truck for the new MM's cab so the old one is still intact.

I haven't take bot mode pics yet, but at this time he looks exactly like RiD Long Haul, but with a truck cab backpack(eww) and a giant cement barrel firearm :D

Hey BrokenSVT, I grabbed those vent panels from my storage. I'll measure them and donate the best size. PM me your address and I'll get 'em off to ya!:thumbs2:

You're a superhero man, I really appreciate the help(and interest). That 'carrier in your thread is INSANE, btw. Give the Headmaster idea some thought, I've been imagining it zooming out of the back of the aircraft carrier and transforming into a noggin for the big guy.

Looking good man! Mixmaster looks nice, although i still think Barricade suits him better... however for stability purpouses, i guess its fine :)

Gun looking great so far and the chest plate is very nice! but as you said, it sits too low. I think this kind of Devastator looks better with a grilled abdomen :)

Does that Hightower might have and extra crane that you wont need? :D

Thanks for the kind words! I'm looking into moving the wing up a hair. I believe you're right and a compromise is in order.

Unfortunately, the figures I snagged from a member here are just bodies without accessories.

Nosir, that's actually discussed a page back. It's the Long Haul mold from Landfill, and so the small cab houses his head. I'm going to modify it ever-so slightly to become the engine housing, making it blend in better.
