So this is my second articulating G1 custom, I started with a reissue G1 Red Alert, and made his hips, shulders, elbows, wrists, and head pivot on ball joints, and made hinges for his knees. I also used G1, and G2 Sideswipe parts as well as painted details to replicate the cartoon version.

    And yes, it still transforms.:)

That's really great, and clean work too. Couldn't tell it had been modified at all.

You should do a step by step tutorial post on one, to really get an idea of how you do this.

Sweet. Straightforward, clean, effective. G1 should always have been done this way. Great job.

Fantastic work. Definitely would like to see more of these, and as EO said, a step-by-step or two would be most educational... :D

Fantastic. I attempted this back in the early days of the fandom with my Red Alert junker, and the results were...messy. Very nice work here. If only the G1 figures came this way.

    Quoted For TRUTH.

And if a G1 Jazz were done up like this, I'd do whatever I could to make it mine.

Dammit, man! Where were you when I was a young'n!?? The best thing about these are the "true to" aesthetic of the originals. The best of both worlds.
    Fine work as usual!

Thanks for all your comments, it feels good to have your work appreceated by other artists and Transformer fans, none of my friends give a cr@p.:(

I have quite a few reissues that need some attention, but doing a tutorial might be a little tricky, as there is actually quite a bit of work involved and some fancy dremmeling, but Ill try and take some WIP pics of some upcomming projects.

There is no try. There is only do, or do not. Don't be a trybaby, be a dobaby.

    :)

(or at least post more customs - these are great!)

See, THIS is the stuff I wish I could do. Any effort I ever put into something like this would make the guy fragile and just shy of useless. And while I'd like to jump into an attempt, I've got way too many other unfinished projects to start one anyway. (And that'd DEFINITELY be left unfinished....*sigh*)

This is such a great custom. Truly on par with the Classics and Universe lines, yet still eternally G1. Excellent job. :)

I know the feeling about friends not giving crap as they think I play with them toys :(
I admire what you did with Red Alert as I have started the same thing with Sideswipe but put it on hold for about 6 months now... I'm really into articulated G1's and I do prefer them to Universe versions.
Congratulations with this project! You have skills and patience. :)
