Thanks fellas for the support! Hope this can work out properly. I've got so many figures from the comics that I want to try making in to figures but restricted to time and finance problems so hope the projects can fund themselves and other projects. Its my dream to ultimately design and build combiners, especially Predaking. But resin isn't exactly a good material for large figures with many movable parts so I gotta start small and work my way up slowly.
I'm so happy to see you've taken this up again. Hopefully you're able to release these to the public, cause I know I still want one.
Thanks guys for the support. I hope the molds and casts won't be too costly too. I'd probably need to outsource the casting. Anyway just a minor update to show the partial assembly.
Check the old thread here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-customs-kitbashes/124792-new-wip.html It's designed in CAD, cut on a cnc milling machine and (eventually) made molds and plastic copies from. The original thread is from the 10" version, which is being sold through Hal @ CyberFembot. People were asking him back then if he would make a smaller/cheaper one -- which is this puppy. You can check out more of his work here: http://www.monolithdesigns.com/toy/main.htm (hopefully he doesn't mind =) )
Wow my site is still up? I thought it's gone coz my ex partner didn't pay up. And thanks for answering for me. I appreciate it I'm still not sure how much but I'm targeting $120 for the complete kit and $100 for the robot. I'd be able to get an accurate estimate only after I've completed assembling it coz its still over 100 parts right now and I gotta reduce it to some 40-60 parts for the molds to be cheaper.
I saw the bigger version(it was in pieces actually) at CybCon this year and it looked pretty amazing. I'd definitely like to get a set to put together myself for around $100-$130. Seems like a reasonable/affordable price for me anyways
I'm amazed you haven't been approached by a huge toy designer company or something, because you have go some serious skills there man.
If your reducing the parts it shouldn't be to much work once some good platinum cure silicon molds are made. Shipping would be a breeze to cause I am in the U.S. Looking great so far, looking cooler and cooler every time I see it.
Great to see the progress on this....I'm glad to see you are making him. Looking good thus far I know you mentioned making Megs when you're done with this one....any plans to make the Seekers anytime in the future?
