Seeing how I had an extra Downshift carcass lying around (yoinked off the engine for my Cybertron Bluestreak 'bash), I figured I'd make a true Wheeljack.
The first and most obvious change to the original Downshift is that I had to build a new section of car hood since the engine was gone.
Next I did some surgury to the head to make it more Wheeljackish. Shaving bits of crown off here, making pointier head spires there, molding a new mask. Then the head got a repaint.
For the heck of it, I cut a large chunk of plastic off the doors to give Wheeljack smaller shoulders. Not because it's more "Wheeljack", but just because it looks better.
Along the same "for the heck of it" lines, I put a thin layer of putty over the roof to get rid of the texture. I love the texture on Downshift, so this is just for variety's sake.
I filled in the hole between the front grill just because it's ugly.
And obviously, I painted him white.
As this is a work-in-progress, none of the details are painted on. I will be digi-bashing some colors on during the course of the week, and then painting the best scheme. For now, here's what I got: www.fluffypotato.com |

I like what you did with the shoulders, and I should also say that your chrome foil on the grill looks swell. Radicons aren't limited to just Transformers. . . .

Right now I'm leaning towards 2 or 3 (the difference is the color of the stripe on the side of the car). I do like the black roof, but I'm thinking it might be too much like Downshift. www.fluffypotato.com |

Maybe one solid green stripe flanked by two small red ones? EPISODE 4 IS UP! This time around, we discuss THE RISE OF THE SUPERSTAR CUSTOMIZER! |
