This isn't much of a kitbash, it's really just a part swap. I switched the swords, seats and groin pieces of my Alt Wheeljack and Grimlock. All you need is a screwdriver and some patience.

I did this because I used the reprolabels for my Wheeljack but the blue looked really funny. Surprisingly after the swap, Grimlock started to look cool as well. Here's the car pics first.

Looks good. I did the same thing on mine. I wish I could figure out how to get the door panels off cause I'd like to swap those as well...

 

You mean the interior side door panels? I just noticed that myself. It's not too noticeable

Wheeljack looks much better with the red, but I think the blue detracts from Grimlock, he needs the red too.

 

I think I will be doing this myself, but swaping parts with a extra grimlock, then using the remaining bits as the basis for a kitbash of it's own. Maybe G2 Grimlock or a stunticon...

 

I need to get a Grimlock with the blue parts for a project I want to do. Don't know if I want to spend 40 bucks for both to just rip them apart.

I'd also switch out their forearms. Since you have the blue with Grimlock, they would look better with him than Wheeljack. Also, if you can't switch door panels, how about painting the red black to match the rest of the door.

 

I was about to say the same thing when I saw your post. So I'll just quote it and say I agree.

 

So, It's Wheeljack and DIACLONE Alternator Grimlock.  

 

I think he should buy another Grimlock, switch out the red parts from that one with the blue from the one he has, and then I could buy the one with the blue parts from him. It's a win-win situation!!

 

  I would be extremely lucky to find some spare Grimlocks just lying around.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I've never tried to paint and I don't want to try on these guys. I did do the forearm swap. Looks pretty good.

 

Damn, that does look good, now if I find a Grimlock I'll have to trade ya.

grimlock looks decent. wheeljack looks good though the blue with reprolabels doesn't really bother me. blue visor one grimlock now matches.
