I've been working on a few tweaks to Galvatron to get him where I want him. Completed so far: Head repaint Cannon treads repaint Balljoints for wrists - Full credit to Lockdown91 for the inspiration! Still a WiP: Transformable forearm covers Cartoon accurate shoulder pylons Modification to back 'handle' Pics: I'm also waiting for a tweaked version of Fakebusker's awesome looking G1 Helmet and/or seeing what 3rd parties come up with. Happy to answer questions
For the wrist mod, I will refer you too Lockdown91's post here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-feedback/1073545-titans-return-voyager-galvatron-24.html I did exactly what he did
That post doesn't really take us to a tutorial. Loving the wrist mod, personally the figures arms are too long to me but this is an awesome start. The stock shoulder pads don't bother me at all
Sorry bud, I linked to the feedback thread where the mod was first shown. I can give a more detailed description if you need it; let me know ☺
*Update* Working on various shoulder mockups. I don't have a 3D printer or anything, so it's time-consuming doing everything manually Also, not shown is a design being cut out of a block of hardened milliput..it's taking quite some time with my little modelling saw LOL!
*Update 2* Shoulders finished New clip-on peg for back pylon finished I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out so far. That being said, I'm still eagerly awaiting what kits 3rd parties come out with. Thanks for looking/commenting
What specifically would you like to know about the forearms? I haven't done much more work since these pics.
I'll have to hunt around to see if I have any more pics on my computer...but the short of it is that I used styrene sheets and tubing as well as some brass rods/paperclips. Basically I sketched and refined the shape on some styrene and drilled some tiny holes into the inside wrist so that I could use some brass to act as a hinge. I'll see if I can come up with some better instructions tomorrow, but most of my gear is packed up right now. Cheers!
I'd made a video showing the custom work I'd done on the figure. Upon re-watching before posting it here, I discovered that unfortunately it was shot before I did the forearm mods. I'm going to re-shoot some stuff today and hopefully get that up soon. Thanks again for looking
Wow awesome work on the forearm gap fillers, I've used Styrene sheets to fill some other figures gaps and can't believe it never occurred to me to try something like this haha thanks for the shout out too, good to see some of my ideas are worth something to someone
