I feel the same way. Hopefully a 3rd party vendor will sell something like this in the future. PM Prime and Galvatron's headmaster gimmicks will be the first to go.

 

Think we could get a few more pictures with the helmet in action? It looks cool in the pic here, but weird in the angle you have on the Shapeways shop.

 

Not a fan of that crown design for Galvatron. Any chance you will be making an original look version later?

 

In the UK, that sounds a bit rude. Especially as he has a purple helmet...

 

Kind of off-topic, but do you or any of the other heavy hitters in the TF Shapeways realm have a requests thread somewhere? Because my God, does (for instance) Titans Return Rewind ever need a set of proper heels.

Also, I seem to be having problems when I log into Shapeways, hopefully I can figure it out soon so I can order one of those cannon adapters.

I appreciate all of your support, and let me know if you have any suggestions or things you might want changed.

You're right, the printed parts still retain their grainy texture. Sanding and polishing can only get you so far, but if you want something closer to acrylic plastic you'll need to order the parts in Frosted Ultra Detail and have them painted to fit the original plastic colour.

I've yet to try these in the new Black Acrylate material, but I don't foresee any issues for simple, one part models such as these.

The pieces shown are printed in Purple Strong Flexible Polished, and the dye colour is the one used by Shapeways. I have no control over how it looks unfortunately.

I went through this project trying to retain as much of the original gimmicks as possible, as I feel that's what made the figures special.
By looking at the mechanism, I'm sure it will be very easy to make a head replacement!

That's on the list!  

I've looked at Rewind's heels. It might prove difficult due to lack of space in the alt mode for the heels to go.

No chance, Shapeways current colour options are quite limited. It will be better to print it in white and paint it to match. :/

 

Hey Fakebusker, I love your work. I think it's awesome that there's an avenue to tweak figures more to peoples' liking.

While people are throwing out ideas/suggestions, I'd just like to throw out one of my own for some new shoulder pylons.

I'd like to see something more G1 than the flat shoulders on the current voyager. The current ones look horrible to me and hamper articulation.
Just a thought, I don't expect you to take it up, unless you're working on something already.

I should really teach myself to 3D model, because there's so many applications/cool ideas for figures.

Anyhow, awesome work, keep it up!
