A lot of us thought it was moronic of Hasbro to release a Nightbeat with no headmaster, and we also find it odd that they are now releasing a head with no body. Surely there must be a way to get these two releases together? With a little Dremel action, TR Blurr's headmaster socket, a touch of superglue and some JB Weld, Nightbeat is now waiting for the Takara release of his head to be complete!
Yep, I did the mod, using the Hasbro head for now but like you I'm waiting for Takara's. Want some 3rd party to make a new "spine" for Million Publishing Go Shooter to work with Takara Go Shooter though, since I don't want to damage an expensive exclusive.
I ended up cutting the yellow block from Nightbeat's vehicle mode and hollowed out a square hole on the figure. Also nice since it gave him a little bit of a neck
I checked your thread out. They look great I agree about not wanting to damage Goshooter. That looks good! Just wondering, do you experience issues with the head wanting to slide out the back of the connector? That is what forced me to put the connector further into the body. Once the head is in, I find that pulling up on it just a bit produces a neck effect.
No it actually holds on really well. Wiggling the head and turning it, doesn't make it fall out. In order to remove it you have to actually pull it out. I think it's constructed differently than the ports on the actual figures.
Yeah, the connectors on the little vehicles are definitely tighter than the ones in the larger vehicles. I almost couldn't get Nightbeat's to go into his little vehicle in tank mode.
I really love the genius of Tfans! I'm not far off setting my Nightbeat Faceplate for sale on shapeways which might make the custom even better than it already is, check it out in my thread dude!
I just got my Nightbeat and I am waiting on the headmaster and the chest pieces to arrive. Then I can do mine!!! Dude, thanks again for show us this can be done.
He really doesn't need a special face plate, just buy an extra Loudmouth. He's Siren and is the head the comic Nightbeat's face was based on. Just paint it up. Best part, it's smoother than Shapeway's material.
