After many iterations of my first 3D model, the Galvatron head, I have gotten more experienced in 3D modeling. This project is almost a year old and I am hoping people haven't lost faith in it. I am a senior now in High School and there is always room to grow so please leave advise and constructive criticism. Thank you to those who bought my products and dealt with my issues as a learning 3D designer, and sorry to those who I may have disappointed when they received my products. Thank you for looking! Looks nice! I like the grimace. You might want to have a version available in Frosted Detail or Ultra FD. Shapeways heads tend to look best in that material and people are usually willing to pay the increase in cost.
Thanks for considering it! Thanks man! With patience you can! Yeah I know I was quite limited on Tinkercad and was getting very frustrated but thanks for the advice.
Tell me about it...it is so many ideas I have...that seem to be niche...or...obscure...{OT} This Galvatron head is lovely...
I haven't tested it out yet but once I get my print from my aunt and get a Galvatron fig I will. I'm relatively broke so it will be hard to but I'll post it once I do.
This is actually my first Tinkercad Build as well. I learned that manipulating the hole option and workspace helped out carving spaces you don't want. I worked on the lower face first, using only one half of it, then worked up towards the eyes. Utilizing copy/paste and duplicating worked wonders. Once I had two symmetrical halfs I created a shape for the outline of the mouth, then turned the shape into a hole and placed it where I wanted. Lastly I made the helmet. Hope this helps out. Also make sure you sketch out your idea and take a pic of it. Place this in a image tab next to your build tab (Your screen should be half Tinkercad and half sketch). Sorry for the long post.
I started 3D modeling with Tinkercad and I can't recommend it. If you ever import one of your models into Blender for any kind of adjustments, you'll see how messy TC models really are. It creates tons of duplicate vertices and overlapping faces that need manual removal, which can take over an hour of your time even if you know what you're doing. Blender's boolean tool is unreliable, but you'll produce much more precise models by learning to use it or another advanced 3D modeling software.
No prob, thank you for checking this out . The TR Galvatron Head didn't really scream Galvatron to me. I think they made the crest too bug like (It's probably the chinstrap).
