I did some easy and quick mods to accommodate some of the new Titan Masters, in this case Brawn, Flywheels (Skytread), Siren and Nightbeat Igear Hench had a terrible Brawn face sculpt so it was a natural to replace it with the great Hasbro Titan Returns version. They're almost the same size, so all I did was cut off the old face (started with dremel and finished off with hand saw) and glued in the new one (unscrews right off of the Titan Master). Used some "green stuff" putty to fill in the gaps and finished off with a little painting. Here's Skytread on a repainted KO undersized voyager Blitzwing (this is just a temporary body, I'm going to repaint an actual Hasbro Generations Blitzwing, since the KO is very crappy quality). I made a Siren custom a while back, similar to the club's Nightbeat, using two Energon Hot Shot's and some G1 reprolabels. Cut a piece of the socket from the mini vehicle that came with TR Siren and glued it onto the body so that he can take the new head. Did the same thing with Generations Nightbeat, I think it'll look better with the upcoming Takara Legends Nightbeat head that's packed with Rewind. The two Headmasters with a custom Hosehead from Energon Inferno and some G1 styled weapons from Sunlink's Armory on shapeways.
Those are awesome! I was planning the same thing for Nightbeat but didn't realize that great Siren idea. I am going to have to steal that idea. LOL Which one did you use for Hosehead, I was planning on trying that also I just didn't know what head to use?
Those look fantastic! Really ingenious how you created headmaster ports for them! The iGear Hench headswap looks great! Do you think it's possible to create a headmaster port on that figure like you did for the others?
It's a good idea, but unfortunately Titanmasters, and pilot figs in general, are pointless without an altmode seat.
Thanks guys! Appreciate the support! My custom Hosehead uses the original Energon Inferno head, just added some length to his "antennas" Hopefully we'll see Hosehead in the next Titans Return wave, it shouldn't be too hard to adapt the figure. I thought about keeping the Headmaster functionality, but it's a tight fit in there and since the original head had a huge ball joint, there's nothing really there underneath to hold the socket in place. I also didn't like the dark green arms on TR Brawn that didn't match IGear Hench. Yes, that's one drawback. I'm going to display them in robot mode but I can see how these mods might not work for some fans. It'll be tough since it's a Botcon figure but maybe Hasbro will someday release the Ducons with their own molds someday!
I am sure that could be arranged. However, "pointless" for me would be a bot mode host taht didn't transform. What we have here are perfectly serviceable transtectors. I am sure the seat/gun thingies could work in some fashion in the meantime. Is the Op going to make seat/antenna helmets for the heads?
I really, really really like that Siren! Great job on these things! Just shows that little things can really change someones prospective on a toy.
Tiny titans? Robot heros? Action Masters? Non-transforming transformers have been a thing. They were to create a more accurate robot mode that can't be done with the transforming ones. (Or look cute in terms of robot heros.) So they aren't completely pointless. nothing really is. didn't know the brawn wave was out already. Didn't like Nightbeat's head from the start. But the others are excellent improvement!
Except for the toys that looked accurate and transformed thus rendering action masters a pointless dead end. Re the customs: Everything is Awesome! Cue the song.
I have to agree. But for example the moive designs are too complex and iMO only revotectec got it right with the getwing prime.ROTF prime is good but as near. The robot replicas, eh...too little detail. And you have to compare it to somthing around the same era. customs are usually better than official due to budget restraints for hastak. All this is my opinion though
Thanks for checking out my customs! No, I display my classics figures in robot mode, so I don't have any plans for seats/antenna helmets, sorry!
