This is the Custom Broadside I posted a couple days ago with some additional elements and figures to create a new (or old, I guess) character. I took a little artistic license by turning a G.I. Joe into a Transformer, but I think it's a good fit, especially with the original Broadside's aircraft carrier mode. Shipwreck wasn't created by the Enigma of Combination. The seashell hanging from Shipwreck's neck is magical, and it allowed his spirit to possess a group of desperate Autobots on the verge of destruction. Shipwreck's assistance helped them not only survive but defeat their enemies. I modified and painted a Lego anchor to serve as both Shipwreck's "tattoo" and pay homage to the hook and rope weapon that came with the original figure. The Viper figure enhancing his shoulder cannon is not a willing member of the team. He's a defeated drone being used for spare parts. And of course I couldn't have Shipwreck without Polly, which is a repainted Buzzsaw figure. The same magic that allows Shipwreck to cooperatively inhabit the combined Autobots was used to blast the Spark out of Soundwave's deadly minion, leaving an empty and perfectly functional body for Shipwreck's faithful pet. I almost didn't do the hat, because I thought it would be too silly. But then I realized that the whole thing was silly, so there was no point stopping with the hat. And here's a link to the original Custom Broadside thread...
Wait, so the bird is basically Buzzsaw with his soul knocked out of it and his body co-opted? That doesn't seem very Autobot-like! Even for a Wrecker! The drone thing I can get, though.
To be fair, Shipwreck isn't actually an Autobot. He's a GI Joe and a Navy SEAL. Plus, I was more worried about it looking cool than the moral implications of willing and unwilling spiritual possession.
Love it. Pirate Transformers are always awesome. Nice work. It would be cool if we had some aquatic vehicles in CW/TR/etc.
i just love this.....everytime i see it, i'm amazed btw, i decided to test out your carrier mode with my broadside with cool results, when i post it on my thread, i'll give a shoutout to you!!!!
Cool, I was actually using my Cyclonus figure when I came up with that ship mode. I think it works a little better than the Scattershot or Silverbolt mold in that mode because it doesn't have the obvious plane tail sticking up in the middle. I can't wait to see yours.
Don't worry. Buzzsaw's in Polly's old body now. A bit undignified, but the dude killed Omega Supreme, he'll make do.
The whole idea is great, but Polly-Bot just seals it. Wait, as a combiner, isn't Shipwreck already a (puts on sunglasses) Poly-Bot? YEEEEOOOOOWWWWW!
