Custom Transformers Aileron Custom Aileron IDW Comics by Lou B. ( char_leigh ) Here is a custom Transformers Aileron. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the character, Aileron is a Camien fembot from the IDW Transformers comic book (she's currently in the "All Hail Optimus" story line). My custom Aileron was made from a Generations Legends Bumblebee figure. She even transforms into her jet car alt mode. Thanks again for checking this out.
Thanks! She's pretty short in the comic books. But I think mine might even be smaller than she's supposed to. She definitely has more mass to make up for her height though.
Thanks! Truthfully, all of the wings bother me. I like how the bot turned out, but the wing placement and sizes just didn't gel right. I like the side wings in the alt mode, but they look off on the bot mode. And you're right, the top fin is way too big. I might go back and correct this if I could find smaller wings in my box of junk parts. As always, I appreciate the feedback.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any spare, smaller wings. Instead, I took out my Dremel and cut down the fins to make them smaller. I also re-positioned the two smaller fins toward the front of the jet car. Although I still have a few issues with this custom, I think the revised, smaller fins look better and it just makes for better proportions in the alt mode. Thanks again, Psiwire, for the feedback! Yeah that looks much better. I don't think you're going to get a closer interpretation of the alt mode unless they make her an Earth-vehicle.
Yeah, you're right on that. I was also considering making Aileron from a deluxe-sized Fall of Cybertron Bumblebee -- the bot mode would work, but the alt mode is too bulky -- whereas her alt mode is pretty sleek. BTW, looking forward to seeing your next custom.

The arms are from Combiner Wars Insecticon Bombshell. They're an exact fit for Bumblebee's shoulder ball joints.
I'm the world's laziest customizer. A couple times a year I just get in a mood where I'm on fire to get stuff done for a few weeks. I don't eat good, or sleep good, but I can turn out a custom a day. Then the mood passes and I do nothing for months. Probably why my WIP shelf is always overflowing.
