An offshoot of the jet-mode Megatron, during the Machine Wars. Typically forms the left arm. But is this the clone... or the original? Megaplex was built to function as a clone for Megatron, a strategy designed to confuse enemy Autobots who seek to shoot down the elusive Decepticon leader. But Megaplex is more than just a decoy, he is equipped with powerful attack weapons that make him a formidable warrior in any air battle. And in robot mode, he only gets tougher! ::Combiner Wars Skydive repainted with Citadel Paints, various CW weaponry, and a Perfect Effect add-on artillery weapon::
excellent I love how much Skydive already looks like Megatron. Just like Streetwise, his head is oddly universal for repaint potential.
Nice paint job. Might I ask why you chose to give the bot mode G1 colors as opposed to his proper MW scheme? I see DotM Megatron seems to sport his tanned scheme. (Unless bot mode is another story as well.) Curious to see the rest of the set, as well as the Megatronus Maximus that results.
Thanks! Yeah, so I went with G1 for a variety of reasons, besides my own personal taste. For one, I never understood why Machine Wars Megs wouldn't have had the original and most recognizable color scheme anyway. Second, there was confusion when Megatron and Megaplex first came out, and there were rumors that the figures and character names got switched, so I thought that would make an interesting theory about which character was the actual clone and/or original. Lastly (and slightly spoilery), I'm aiming to get the G1 colors on the combined form once all of the Megatron limbs link up. And besides, I think a couple of people already made the proper MW repaints. It is kind of coming together, though the last two limbs are a bit out of left field...
Nice, but i think you should have used the G1 colours for Megaplex, which basically replaces the red with blue (Takara retconned this with a G1 toy reissue).
