Here's another used, beat-up toy that I came across in a local collectible toy store. This Combiner Wars Optimus Prime was missing all of his accessories, the normal robot head was gone, the neck joint was broken off, the gestalt head was missing the antennas, the blue pelvic plate was missing, and many of the screws were stripped.

I cleaned him up and restored him the best I could while making some new modifications. I did away with the combiner gestalt mode and just focused on the standard robot mode. I gave him a new head. I found a spare blue pelvic plate, which I trimmed down on the sides. This allows the plate to fit entirely within the backpack, lessening the kibble. I gave him larger shoulder-mounted smokestacks. I also beefed up his chest and torso with a Construct-bots chest plate. There's some "partsforming" to complete his robot mode and he still transforms into his cab with a few modifications as well -- like the low profile wind deflector and the new, larger smokestacks.

Thanks again for checking out my custom Optimus Prime. ~Lou

Nice, the construct bot chest-plate looks great, but if you got rid of the torso mode why keep the torso crotch plate?

I love when people take figures that would otherwise be literal garbage and restore them!

The funnest form of recycling :lol

I decided to keep the crotch plate just in case I change my mind later and want to restore functionality to the gestalt torso mode. I might need it later.

Thanks! I really enjoy restoring old, broken toys -- especially if I come across them cheap -- like this one.
