    HI,
I am not sure if this is the right section but I am sure you could help :)

I recently bought United Warriors Grand Galvatron. It's great, it's one of my favourite TFs ever, but after leaving it for one day with the right leg on a small step (2-3cm) Cyclonus' right shoulder (G. Galvatron's right hip) loosened up.

What happened is that the pin connecting Cyclonus' shoulder to the gear inside the torso started moving out. The shoulder eventually detatched completely. I don't know how to fix this, and it gets more complicated as I need to do this without disassembling the torso.
(I managed to remove Cyclonus' head to get some more space.)

The main problem is that the pin you see is wider at the slimmer end which goes inside the shoulder (NOT the flat end!).
If I tried to push that into the shoulder it would dig a larger hole.
I have no idea how that got in the shoulder in the first place!

I would like some advice to fix this shoulder. Can anybody help?
    Thanks!

where did you order him? maybe you could get a replacement?

the pin is too thick? maybe you could make the hole bigger somehow? i'm not sure you can shave metal pins down.....i wish i could be more helpful......

If you can't get a replacement I would suggest replacing the pin with a small screw. It's not hard jus make sure the screw is just barely bigger in diameter than the pin but no longer.

I had a similar issue with my CW Silverbolt. I would use plastic welder on both the pin as well as gluing the "cog" back into place once the shoulder is put back in. Just glue the cog to the shoulder and make sure not to glue it to the inside of the chest cavity.

If you cant do that, you could, as a last resort, look for either a USA CW Silverbolt or Cyclonus and repaint the arm. Then, replace it with the faulty Takara one.

BTW, I think you are not alone. My Takara Grand Glavatron had looslg halves for Breakdown, smudged, incomplete face on its face, loose legs/arm joints on Ghost Starscream (so it can never hold a weapon without flopping), etc. I think some of the video reviews cited other QC isssues on different figs in the set, too.

If you have or can get access to a soldering pen, you should be able to push it back into place. (They are like $7 bucks and Michaels) Same thing happened to my Apollyon's (not MP Megatron) hip. Simply put the pin in place, then hold the hot pen against it. Be patient and wait for the pen to heat up the pin, then apply a bit of pressure and it should slide in, just make sure not to touch the plastic with the pen, as it will melt. Good luck!

    Hi,
thanks! I never used a soldering pen before. DO I need other equipment, e.g. table, mask/glasses, gloves? How does surrounding plastic react to a soldering pen? I would heat the pin, but there would be a round gear and the rest of the torso nearby...

I would recommend a table for stability. The pen should come with a metal holder to keep the hot tip from touching anything. I usually tape this down to my work area to avoid the pen slipping and burning something. Here's a youtube clip that might be of help to you Unlike the video, I like to use the pen tip so I can apply even pressure. :)

Hmm, we have UW Cyclonus but haven't had this issue...not yet, anyways. Flathead pin needs heat to get back in as already mentioned above. Soldering iron is best but need to have steady hand as not to melt surrounding plastic with the soldering iron tip. Pinpunch may end up cracking plastic.
