Ok working on the arms and legs today, honestly didnt think i'd get to, the legs are mostly done. I'm purposefully leaving a very very very slight tint of blue to shoe how in the comics he started to turn into a version of nemesis prime. It wont be huge and glaring when the figure is complete.
I'm surprised it took this long for someone to finally make Nova Prime out of Cybertron Optimus. Looks good so far.
I did it a couple months ago but still am fine tuning the grittiness of the paint. Do you have any tips on that.
Unfortunately no, as I'm not a customizer. I think you should probably ask someone who is, like the OP or someone else in the Radicons forum.
looking good so far!!! so are you just going to repaint the original backpack/wing set that comes with him or are you going to scratch build a more accurate set of wings? (gundam has a few bots that may fit the bill here....)
I havent fully decided. The backpack is going to be the last thing I work on. But to keep everyone's attention I have an updated pic of some of the arm work. The grey is gone replaced by gunmetal.
I'm spoiling you all but i wanted to show a stark contrast of how a simple paint job makes the figure literally look night and day. I havent re-assembled anything yet, I'm waiting on a very specific galaxy convoy next paycheck for black parts i need. (ive cannibalized 2 so far but a 3rd will suffice >:3) my biggest problem is the pegs that connect I cant stop the paint from rubbing off so i have to have a new plan maybe sandpaper them slightly.. but either or, it's remarkable how a simple color change makes a difference.
First off this looks amazing, this is really clever. Second off Leafeon, Espeon, Umbreon, and i think that's Vaporeon.
where you making joke of chest being primed? not fan of this figure but it looks good what i see so far
6-12-2016 He's far from done. The wingpack is next and i need to get my hands on 1-2 of cybertron wingsaber's sword(s). I also have to find a way to make the bars that go across his chest and paint them light blue. Ideas would be nice.
This looks very promising. I'm actually surprised that TFCC hadn't thought of making Nova Prime from the Cybertron Optimus Prime mold. And maybe a bit to combine with his because of the swords, and some of the body design.
2 Cybertron Optimus Primes and 1 Galaxy convoy were used to make this figure. Because of my concern for paint removal he's staying in robot mode.
