    No, not Kre-O.

This is scratch built Transformers made entirely out of unglued LEGO® bricks. I have showed them on various Lego sites and events but as I now have registered here I can finally show them to you too.
And they actually do transform (but as they aren't glued they tend to fall apart a little during transformation)

(photoshoped image to show both modes. Yes, the trailer disapear   )

    Bumblebee
    ~1200 pieces
    30 cm / 12" tall
    [IMG]

    Sunstreaker
    ~1500 pieces
    38 cm / 15" tall
    [IMG]

    Optimus Prime
    ~5000 pieces
    66 cm / 24" tall
    [IMG]

These are based on the designs E.J. Su made for the -ation series. It was those comics that got me interested in Transformers as an adult. I just loved the designs as they looked mechanical and didn't distort the vehicle parts. I remember thinking “I could actually make those” and so I spent about 3-4 years failing to make Lego Transformers until Bumblebee was finished in 2010. Then Optimus was almost finished in 2012 and I brought him to a Lego convention in Seattle (I live on Sweden so it was a long trip). Another two years and Sunstreaker was finished and a year after that the final details on Optimus was done and I took a break from building Transformers.

    Taillights
    ~400 pieces
    20 cm / 8" tall
    [IMG]

An original character I made for a contest in 2014. We where to build a new Lego Transformer with it's own back story. With the short time, only 3 mounts, I had to build smaller (and I couldn't use the comic designs anyway)

More info on MOCpages (a site for Lego creations), more pictures on flickr and videos on YouTube.

I can make individual posts for each character with more info and pictures if that is preferred. Or make a “gallery” but that feel a little redundant as I have flickr albums. (And I don't even know if anyone here care for Transformers made of Lego anyway)

Unlike the Lego forums, you might be interested in the design process. If I can get my scanner to work I could show some of my sketches and blueprints. At some point I will make videos showing in more detail how they work.

And just so you can get a sense of the scale, here is my Optimus with MP-01 :)

Thank you. I have had lots of practice and a talent for making transformers.

    :)  :)  :)

Taillights? Ok... At least it look like Lego (I should have made an horde of small ones :redface2:  :) :)  )

Please don't come near Ohio, because I will inevitably consume your brain in order to create such magnificence.

Thank you (and it took a lot of patience too:) )

    Thanks

You are welcome. I'm happy to blow some minds :D

Wow, you are here too. Cool.
So do I get stoned with knockoffs if I would say I like Lego more than Transformers?

    So that's how it work.
Now I have to track down the brains of a good scratch builder and painter so I can make my designs in plastic :D
(I tried to make my Bumblebee from an MP Skywarp and a model kit VW but gave up. It wasn't really my medium to work with)
