I admit that it has been a very long time since I've actually did a custom. But dear goodness did I not anticipate how much work and effort was needed when it came to putting together a novel. I have to say that I finally managed to come up with a title for the first book, despite only managing to type out five chapters since I still have yet to fully get over this writer's block that's been plaguing me since Primus knows how long. However that's a decision not really worth focusing on. Instead lets us feast our eyes onto a figure that definitely needed a fresh coat of paint. Especially when it came to the legs, torso and the side arms which seems to always be left alone when Hasbro is involved. Granted I could have done something about the light bar. But knowing my luck with some past figures, the last thing I needed to do was to completely botch up another custom. I also didn't bother to change the weapon seeing how it may possibly be the best gun weapon that have ever come with these figures and I'm definitely okay with more shotgun wielding robots. This!!! Why couldn't Hasbro do THIS? I would buy this, not the one released. Great job, especially the chest!
I hear you mate. If anything, Hasbro could have at least did the arms and legs so that the figure didn't turn out looking so damn cheap.
I didn't even see the light bar until I read your description. Now it stands out. Oh well. Love it still. Makes me wish I had room in my collection for some classic bots.
Very cool, I really like this custom. The application of colors and the paint job is all nicely done. The result speaks for itself. Great work!
I just ordered this guy and my first thought was "I wonder how much better he'd look with more color - especially red on his shins?". And you've answered that question spectacularly. Fantastic work! I love the thighs too. Did you paint them or swap them out from one of the other molds?
Apologizes for responding late due to heavy amounts of house and yard work that I needed to take care off. As for the thighs, basically I didn't have to switch any parts out. What you're seeing is the same figure just given an extensive paint job. Now for some of the other Combiner Wars figures I plan on tackling, I will be switching out their weapons in order to appear less redundant when it comes to the constant remolds.
I do hope you plan on tackling Wheeljack. This one looks great already but Jack is practically a blank canvas begging to be painted.
