I had an extra CW Prowl, so I spent the past weekend painting up my take on a CW Barricade. I used the head from the HFTD Hailstorm I used previously on my Nosecone custom. It took some pressure to get it on, but it fits perfectly. Colors are Testors Model Master Matte Black, Matte White, Guards Red, Vallejo Silver and Chainmail Silver, and a custom 5-to-2 blend of Vallejo Violet and Testors Matte White. I finally picked up a small air compressor, so I did this almost entirely with my airbrush. Even tried my hand at making some custom stickers. I wanted Barricade to have a little evil cop buddy, so I paired him up with a spare Nightstick Targetmaster from the Battle in Space set, painted his arms silver and named him Flakjacket. Thanks for looking, hope you enjoy! C&C always welcome!
You did an excellent job. I love the head. I'm not an expert, but I don't believe police wear flak jackets. Aren't they just a military thing?
You'll find that some Police Departments issue external vests, aka flakjackets, instead of under-the-shirt vests. In this case they'll be more tactically sound, like this: Back to the custom, I love it!
Love it. Would've been good to see Hasbro do some repaints like this that go beyond the sphere of G1 just to mix things up a bit.
I love this, especially your choice for his head and the paint finish on the car. And the purple highlights in robot mode are perfect. I think the labels on the back could be a little bigger but that's just a personal preference.
Battle of the CW Barricade customs!!! http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/1055247-classics-g1-micromaster-barricade.html Round One, FIGHT!!! I like the black, it almost always works on any mold. Plus adding a Targetmaster makes everything better.
This will look much better for that Combiner War Galvatron that 3/4 of the official limbs, Ghost Starscream aside . Very nice work here.
Was that a Star Wars quote? OK, I'll playing along... That one is a pretender...always two there are, no more, no less. A master, and an apprentice. Back on topic....out of the 3, so far I'm liking DarkProwler's version.
Thanks everyone! I may go back and redo the stickers on this once I get better at measuring them out to fit properly, but otherwise I really like how he turned out. I'm thinking I might try to do movie Bonecrusher from Rook at some point
Oh dude that is spot on. You downright nailed it! Up until I read it I thought the targetmaster was Frenzy but heck a cop buddy works too. Come to think of it since CW Menasor already has Built in AOE Galvatron homage I wonder how well a movie inspired combiner would work. I figure Soundwave as another limb bot.
