I just received my test print, want to see if anyone has suggestions for improvement before I put them up for sale. The drill can lay down like this. I think I can move the joint back by just a little bit. Tilt up: Bot mode: Leg mode
Not bad for the Nose Cone and Drillhorn versions of the Brawl mold since this will fit them perfectly.
Yep, this is the way Hasbro should be going with their Brawl-as-Nosecone redeco. Looks much better than this tiny drill on theirs.
I know it's not the point of this, but how well does it mount on the back end? With and without using the turret as the mounting point. I ask this because of the peg on the drill bit.
wow, that looks great. Any chance you will be making drills for CW devastator to plug in place of his hands?
Nope, the Hasbro version is a crappy gun accessory. The Takara version is the awesome re-design. Awesome work here, great engineering.
I too would like to know if it is able to function in the backwards configuration like the current mini-drill accessory does. Great job on the design though, looks really good.
"back in my day, drills on toys don't need to spin, but now these yunglins all want action, and gears, and backgrounds.......its just........(snore)"
Well it's a 3D printed item that usually would make it more expensive. That, and it doesn't have to spin.
Yes it is possible - the two pivots allow you to make it point up but it will be staying there by force of friction only. No afraid not, it can certainly point upwards, a tab will prevent it to go any further forward.
It is not impossible, the basic design allows that. I just need to move the pivot away from the drill body onto the axle itself. I can work on a MKII if anybody is interested. Also, the axle itself is 5mm in diameter - it can be plugged into the hand if you take it off the pivot. This is another thing I can work on, so that the pivot and the drill itself can be separated. Stay tuned...all great feedback!
