Yep! I was only interested in the HR one for the neck swivel (such as it is).

 

I am using it now, overall, I am happy with it.

 

So taking inspiration from the first poster this is what i have done

Step one:

Removed the original arms

Took a Cybertron Dark Scorponok and upgraded him with the Headrobots Green King upgrade kit #1 ( #2 is sold out everywhere ) and a shapeways neck adapator as well as the Perfect Effect Aculeusking head.

Painted Green King Claws black.

And I got the spear ( LARGEST VERSION ) from Trentulas ! super happy with it. If you guys are doing this or something like it, you need to get Trentulas spear !

 

Step 2:


Bought a botcon double punch

Removed the legs on both toys and swapped black parts for gray parts, removed the orange and teel colored parts ( Heal and wheels ) from the botcon Double punch toy and swapped them for the black heels and gold wheels ) from the Cybertron Dark Scorponok toy

Then did the same thing for the shoulder pads part

Swapped out the blueish gray parts as well on the toys as well . Botcon had neon colors and so i thought the dark scorponok versions colors fit better .

Painted any orange stripes on the botcon double punch , gold , which were on the shoulder pads and legs and then Painted the Orange front grill gold as well. it was very minimal painting as I really hate painting.

Now he has like 40 percent more black and none of it painted ! I think it really makes him stand out more and more closely resembles his cartoon appearance. I did this for my 7 year old boy and he loved it.

Now I got a botcon double punch ( with various issues ) with Cybertron Dark Scorponok parts for sale LOL PM me if interested !

 

jamarmiller, seeing that massive spear - get your mind out of the gutter folks   I should have gotten that one, I went for the 8 inch and let me tell you eight isn't enough   Your Black Zarak is looking awesome with the swapped parts and extra paint!

 

Thanks ! And yeah when I was measuring what size I wanted , when trentulas asked , I saw and actually was surprised by it , that the original toy size and even the middle one wasn't going to be big enough . In the show it was huge like that , so I went with 12 inches .

 

I wish someone would do those mandibles in Red, that would be a small but very nice addition.

That and the legs is what I really would want from someone.

Then the gun and Shield would be nice too

Annnd just got Hydra in the mail!!! Question, which Overlord have you gone with to go with your Black Zarak? I'vr been back n forth with Legends Overlord or Carnifex w/ g1 upgrades...

 

I went with Legends Overlord

 

I used the Hasbro Overlord but with shapeways powermasters from Ariel's Customs.
