I absolutely loved the idea of the Incrediplugs by Skyquake, but since he appears to have vanished, I've decided to try my hand at engineering my own similar conversion pegs. First up is this - https://www.tinkercad.com/things/3MP6wNKfHEw-combiner-wars-to-energon-converter-box This will (ideally) let you connect a Combiner Wars limb to an Energon torso. Additionally, the 5mm peg in the front allows for minicon connections or to connect this elsewhere on the bot, and the 5mm holes on the side could be weapon storage or... whatever. This has not been tested - waiting on the library's 3D printer to be done with repairs - but the measurements should be sound, and I'll update this post with more dodads as I dream them up.
Yup he did. Last time I talked to him in November 2015, he got a new job and stuff. Speaking of, I was really impressed with his designs. I bought a few sets from him from a couple of my other combiner projects, FOC Bruticus and such. At that time, we were talking about ordering the "Clean Sweep Set" from him. This set allows Generations Scourge to combine with CW Cyclonus to form Galvatronus. Is this something that you can come up with? I finally got me 4 sweeps, then Skyquake vanished. Maybe too busy or got sucked in the Shadowzone with Soundwave.
I'm not entirely sure. On one hand, he appears to have pioneered the whole multi-generation combiner conversion kit, and I really don't want to steal his flavor... on the other hand, he has sort of disappeared, and there's no telling when/if he may return. Some of the stuff he was doing was very... generic. Not in a bad way, just in a "oh hey, change this shape to that shape and they can connect, that's simple, yeah" sense. The four-armed Bruticus and the Sweep things were a little more unique, and since those were his brain babies I am not sure I want to try and steal them. That said, I guess I can try, and if he comes back I can take my designs down again. It's not like I'm making any money. Also... and this might be a bigger problem... I don't have a Scourge, so I don't know about measurements or anything. I can try and reverse engineer it from what I see in the pictures, but it's going to be a lot of trial-and-error.
Not specifically, I I think this may be a classic case of "Your artists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should". Or something. I have all three of the Energon cores, and Barricade makes the best conversion core - you have to spin his legs around and widen his stance to accommodate the wider limbs. I also have a spare FOC Ruination core, so the next thing I'll probably be doing is either the reverse (use a CW core with Energon limbs) or my take on the "Brute Plug".
Thanks for responding. I am not in anyway want to disrespect Skyquake's designs. It is just, you know, he went to the shadowzone. Maybe we can wait until the Titans Return Scourge and try to combine four of those to CW Cyclonus for an even bigger combiner. How about that for your trademark design?
I had actually considered something like that... I was looking into the logistics of using the Energon CORES as Combiner Wars limbs. I mean, they're bigger, after all, but there's only 3 of them...
I did an adapter for Galaxy Convoy to use CW limb.. and the play-ability factor for him is awesome! check it out: see more pics at my thread! http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/1051403-cw-limbs-galaxy-convoy-cybertron-op.html?highlight=azmorello
Ooooohhhh, that's really nice. Has started me wondering what other toys we could give Combiner Wars adapters to. I know I've seen a 5mm peg adapter so you can just "hang" limbs off, like, the CW Ultra Magnus, but I'd want more like what you're doing. Time to go take some measurements, methinks.
Ran the first test of my reverse connector and it works great! The Energon Combiner limbs are just the right size to match up with Combiner Wars as legs with these adapters. https://m.imgur.com/a/IOWdY
