Custom Transformers IDW MTMTE Swerve's Bar
from Transformers More than Meets the Eye MTMTE
    by Lou B. (aka " char_leigh ")

I'm a big fan of the IDW comic book series, "Transformers More than Meets the Eye." Here is a Custom Swerve's Bar. Although it's not comic-accurate, I thought it'd make a fun "playset" for my Transformers figures. Thanks for checking this out.

Sooo...it's not accurate and it's a...Lego model? As I haven't seen the source material, I can't say if this has achieved the goal of making a TF-related custom. Sorry.

I don't even like the comics and I think this is awesome! The detailing and design almost cover the fact it's a Lego build.
    Very nice!

Okay that looks amazing! The amount of detail in the build is incredible. Swerve would be proud! :D

Thanks for the compliments! I greatly appreciate the positive feedback. And for those of you unfamiliar with Swerve's Bar, here is what it looks like in the comic book (from MTMTE #50). I took a few liberties with the design, gave it more surface detail and texture, and did what I could with the LEGO pieces that I had available. Thanks again!

The counter could be a little higher, otherwise this is a stunning set piece. Bravo, sir!

i think set pieces really make the collections, and this bar is fantastic. I started working on a junk planet shelf a while ago, and i think this re-ignited the fire

This is amazing. I love IDW's comics, and this certainly gives off the feel of Swerve's Bar, whether or not every tiny detail happens to be correct. Looks great to me. I'd love to have that for my own collection.

perhaps you should look at and get familiar with the source material FIRST?...you know, BEFORE commenting.

That's pretty incredible. I love it! How did you make it?

Also, did you make two different versions of the energon or is that a lighting trick? One looks green and the other orange.

I just made neon yellow energon/engex distillers. I think the red and white led lights kind of created that green/orange-ish effect...or maybe the white balance wasn't properly adjusted on my camera.

Thanks. That's a custom painted Rung that I got off of Shapeways -- it's JohnBonhamatron's Comic Tribute MTMTE Rung. It's a really neat figure.

I really wish I made a parts list or at least took in-progress photos while I made this. But truth is, I just dumped out all of my gray and black LEGO pieces on the floor and just made it up as I went along. There was a lot of trial and error (and hair pulling) trying to figure out what works and with the limited amount of pieces that I had.

And thanks again to everyone for your positive feedback. I'm really glad that non-comic and comic fans liked it. Means a lot. Thanks!

More photos populated with Legends-sized figures.

Here are some photos of my custom Swerve's bar populated with Legends-sized figures. DX9, Maketoys, Iron Factory, Takara, and Hasbro Legends-sized figures seem to work really well with the bar's size. Thanks for checking this out. :)
