Whoa! I've been eagerly anticipating this thing ever since I heard Lego was making it. Had no idea it started as a fan project and that this thread existed. Congrats @len_d69 Can't wait to have this set. I recently purchased a set of custom Lego minifigs of all the pilots (along with a Voltron minifig) to go with this set once I've got it.
Yup! I signed up for VIP specifically for this set. FedEx shipping says it should be here Friday. I've already invited my nephew over for that day to help build it. Maybe someday I'll get around to doing the 3d printed Voltron that one guy created a few years back. It can stand next to my Lego Voltron
Picked up one at the local Lego Store yesterday afternoon. They had three in stock, but it was limit 1 per customer during the early VIP week. Best trip to the mall ever. Easily the most excited I have ever been for a Lego set to hit the shelves!
I got the kit, but I'm disappointed at some of the changes they made from the original model. Lego killed most of the articulation and added partforming, it's a totally different model.
LEGO VOLTRON is one of the greatest LEGO creations ever. Thanks to all involved in making this true gem! I really enjoy seeing the various versions in the instruction manual. The final product is amazing! It really helps getting the KO brick figures of the pilots/paladins. I found the little grey gun piece resembles the cartoon pistol pretty well.
