I'm working on my own Combiner Team. When finished it will consist of: Rodimus Prime (Battle Core Ops retool/repaint) Red Hot (Rook repaint/head swap) Free Wheeler (Sunstreaker repaint/head swap) Powertrain (Ironhide repaint) Backtrack (Groove repaint) Not-Small-Foot (Small Foot deco homage but original character) Here's progress so far: Backtrack (AKA Night Ranger homage) Powertrain Free Wheeler Not-Small Foot? Gang so far... I know I need to touch up various spots on the deluxes, and I need to add more details to NSF and Freewheeler, but I just got so excited to have come so far with them! I haven't done a custom in ten years. Not sure what to call the Small Foot deco. She's not meant to be the actual GoBot, but a homage. Unlike Night Ranger, which is just a goofy name, Small Foot could sort of work for a Transformer. However, I'm afraid it'd be confusing. The other options I was considering was Sparkplug, Small Shot, or Tappet. Powertrain came about because I was going to go for a combination of the E-Hobby/Transtech look and original cartoon for Not-Small-Foot (orange shell, blue torso), but quickly realized how much it looked like Powertrain. So now they're siblings like the Lamborghini twins, I guess. Bonus picture: "We're twinsies!"
Like the looks of them so far. Great to see some Micromaster and Gobot love. Not sure about a name for Little Foot, Off Road would work, but is already taken. What about Lift Kit?
A quick pic of Free Wheeler with his highlights. It's hard to tell from the image, but he has two shades of red, two yellow, and silver to help break it up a bit.
Still working on this. I'm waiting on parts, but I do have a fifth character to go with the CW concept of replacing one of the original team members with a new character and then releasing said team member later. However, right now I'm working on picking a Rodimus head.
Here's an update: CW Red Hot, CW Rodimus Prime (WIP), and the sixth/former member, CW Swindler For comparison: Red Hot (1989) - Autobot Search & Rescue - www.tfu.info Swindler (1989) - Autobot Reconnaisance - www.tfu.info The Roddy head is from an Alternator's Prowl, and I added the crest on out of paper clay. This'll be for the regular bot's head. For the Combiner head, I figured just repaint the Optimus Maximus head and the combined form can be Guardian Prima, after the Guardian Prime from the G1 cartoon that is in Rodimus colors, the G1 Prime in the same, and finally the aligned continuity Prima's face. I really need a name for the team, though.
CW Rodimus Prime, and then the combined form: Guardian Prima. I picked that name since in the Marvel Comic Prima was (sometimes) portrayed as being in Rodimus Colors, while the G1 Cartoon had Guardian Prime in those same colors. I kept the Op-Max head, since it looks similar (from what I can tell) to aligned continuity's Prima face. As for the team name, I'm thinking of going with Velocibots, but I'm not sold on it yet. Any suggestions?
I guess since this thread was resurrected, I may as well ask...what head did you use for "Littlefoot" there?
Thanks! I appreciate it. Tomahawk (2010) - Autobot - www.tfu.info I used a green marker to change the visor color.
Very nice...I have a CW-Ironhide-to-Smallfoot conversion of my own, but heads that more closely resemble her Go-Bot incarnation's look kinda meh, and I have a spare Tomahawk head from a Whirl conversion I got off of eBay that I was originally keeping for a Thunderblast-to-Earth-mode-Nautica conversion I was never able to do. Were the ball and socket compatible, or did you need to do any additional work with them? What's kinda funny is I've been working on a conversion of Battle Core Prime into Energon Rodimus' repaint, Checkpoint...I just found a Prowl head on Shapeways for his main mode, and I've been debating getting a replacement for his Combiner head.
I believe that I just switched the heads, no problem, but it has been around two years ago. I don't think that I did any extra work, but don't quote me on that. As for a combiner head replacement, I gave up because I couldn't find any that could fit in the compartment properly, and was the proper size.
Prowl-18mm-5mmklik by Prowlfan on Shapeways This is the one I "found"...this guy has an entire Shapeways shop devoted to Prowl conversions, so I asked him (since I don't speak German and am TERRIBLE at measurements, so I couldn't tell by his descriptions) which of his Prowl heads could fit in place of the regular Voyager head on Battle Core Prime. Mind you, I haven't ordered it yet, due to post-Christmas bills, so I haven't confirmed if it fits or not. As for the combined mode, SteamShield has a Prowl head for Ultra Prime/Optimus Maximus, too: Polize Strategist Gestalt Head by SteamShield on Shapeways
