    Heels for Generations Windblade (Shapeways)
    Update February 10, 2016

It's been awhile since my last release, guys, and boy have I missed you!
I've love to show you a little upgrade I've cooked up that instantly solves the
terrible flaw of what could have been a fan favourite.

    Windblade.

By using the original swivel hinge and incorporating an additional balljoint on each heel,
I'm able to give Windblade much needed ankle tilt plus enlarging her base footprint.
Now, even with her wings pulled all the way back she's still stable as a rock.

    She's very stable.

And yes, these heels work easily for Takara Slipstream as well.

In her alt mode, she requires the heels to be rotated 180ยบ about their balljoints to
provide the smallest silhouette possible, but yes, they don't look too out of place.
Relative to her front toes, shoulders, arms and sword anyway.

    Assembly

Assembly is very, very simple. Take the original heels out. Install the male ball joint
piece to the female socket (noting the orientation of the former piece points 'forwards'.
Put in the new heels. Stand the figure up.

These look pretty cool. If i didn't already have a set of JohnBonhamatron's heels for both Windblade and Slipstream, I'd probably be all over these. I like how these look in alt mode better, and the added ankle tilt looks great. Man, where were you a year ago? :)

Oh, I wasn't aware Jon already did heels for her. Alas I was too slow.
Things have been busy for me this last year, that's why the sluggish pace. Hopefully I can pick things up soon.

I think you've definitely got me this time, but I still tried!

Gotta say though, these parts look great. A far more elegant solution than others I've seen.

I got the package yesterday (so much faster then expected), first opinions, they're great and my Slipstream is finally stable when standing, however I could not possibly pull off the poses shown in the balancing challenge pictures as the ball joints are rather loose...nothing that is not fixable, but still something to note. I will post some pictures once I got some nail polish or floor polish to fix the ball joints.

Yeap! I had to coat my ball joints with glue as well. Nothing out of the ordinary, I realise I have to do the superglue treatment for almost every print I receive nowadays that I'm getting used to it. You're right though, most 'normal' poses don't need glue reinforcement as gravity helps the ankle tilts find the optimum position for balance.

    Can't wait for your pictures!

These look pretty awesome, I've always wanted to display my Windblade and Slipstream a bit more dynamically so I think I'll order a couple.
