Seeing that MP Optimus Primal will indeed finally be the right size for my other Maximals made me want to make another Airazor to flesh out the S1 BW cast more. At first I was just going to make another deluxe and more show accurate version like I did for 2 commissions a few years ago, but then I decided to take it further and go for more of an MP version with even more robot mode accuracy. Like the last 2, she is deluxe sized now with longer limbs, a more accurate chest, larger shoulder pads, revoltech hands, and a new paint job, but I also extended the bird neck so there would be clearance for a new fully resculpted head, filled in the big hole in her upper chest, cut off the pelvis and attached it lower so I could lengthen the torso and add the gold rings, sculpted the thighs to be much more screen accurate than the last versions, and worked in her arm gun. The arm gun isnt the little dart gun like in the show and the new way I did the crotch means it doesn't fold in so the legs are longer in alt mode, so I guess its not really quite MP level, but its should look fine with my other Maximals. I'd wanted to rework an oversized KO Tigatron into an MP version of him too to finish the S1 cast, but I can't find those anymore. And here's the first one I did a while back- http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/872834-project-airazor.html And the longer legged version 2- http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radic...obot-repaint-airazor-rebuild-version-2-a.html Last pic shows how it looks after going over the orange parts with a lighter orange.
Amazing! You've always made the best Beast Wars customs! I remember seeing your air razor years ago, which was amazing, but this is even better! I can't wait to see more Beast Wars stuff from you,
Lovely work; really nice paintjob makes the alt mode just pleasant to look at, which is exactly the effect you'd want from an avian tf. It's a nice change from the usual robot look of tfs.
she turned out phenominal!!! I barely notice the slightly longer legs you mentioned....im too transfixed on the sweet color combo and paint work!!
Beautiful work! This is the kind of work that makes me want masterpiece figures for all the beast wars cast.
very nice job on her, if i may make one suggestion though. the orange seems a little too red, perhaps a copper color for the orange bits would be closer to the show model
I agree, though some of that is the pictures... I was having pure hell trying to get them to come out well at all and went through 3 backdrops, lots of camera setting adjustments, and probably over 60 pics in my recycling bin just to get the decently clear pics I posted. They ended up too vibrant because of the vibrant/warm/dark settings I had the camera on that finally took clear shots. Its just normal testors orange. But still the orange could use to be a bit lighter so I will probably touch that up at some point. EDIT: Went and did that, using Tamiya's X-6 Orange which is quite a bit lighter, but still looks a bit more dark and vibrant in this new pic than in person...
Goodness. That's. That's... INCREDIBLE!! If Takara ever gets this far with their masterpiece line I HOPE it's this good!!
