Having seen that CW Smokescreen is a straight repaint of Prowl and with the upcoming Titans Return possibly signifying the end of the CW line, I decided to fix myself up with a CW Bluestreak by body parts-swapping between a spare CW Prowl and Dead End to give him a nice sleek, civilian car mode with no lightbar or police kibble. Sadly I do not have the paint skills to give him the MP Streak homage paintjob I want but whilst I save up the funds to get a professional to finish him off I have a Dead End-head-&-chested Prowl, what to do? Break out the sharpies & reprolabel spares for a quick and dirty "fallout" custom like my prior Red Alert, of course, but this time stick to budget! I initially thought of the black sharpie as a test that I would re-paint later but I ended up liking the beetle-shell sheen of it as a nod to the movie Barricade's insectoid appearance. UPDATE: 03.01.2016 - I got a bit disaffected with CW Barricade but I think I finally figured it out, he needed some of that beetle black in 'bot mode. Plus some tiny tweaks in car mode (mostly at the back end, BTW, yes, that is Smokescreen's H/F connector on his leg). DeceptiCop, BRUTALIZE! Just a bit of black craft paint to neaten up the black parts of the shins that the Sharpie can't reach I reckon and he is DONE! UPDATE:03.02.2016 Finish Line! The shins they are a-painted. I think he's done! DJD Tryout: "TRAITOR!!!" Usually Suspect Turnaround I tried blue Sharpie-ing my spare Prowl Reprolabel horns to make some purple "Horns/Antennae" but they went blue/black instead. My point was that there are no Decepticon symbols, and the saying on the back says "To Serve and Protect".
Looks nice so far though I think using Off road's head may fit better on him since it evokes more of Barricade anyway.
Mate, you need to look a little closer at the car mode bonnet (or hood, if that's the more familiar term for you) and the bot mode chest. My CW Barricade is just a tiny little bit more subtle than Movie Barricade but not so much so. Now that is a stroke of genius, sir, any suggestions for a small grey associate I could re-purpose for him?
"To Serve and Protect".....Megatron? Maybe Bombshell controlled Prowl? Reverse his robot colours. Quick question for you: Can you swap heads between the Breakdown and Deadend molds? i.e. do they have the same size ball joint?
Hmm, think I'm leaning more towards a Movie Frenzy-style mini-minion but I'm rattling my brains to try and figure out a legend or minicon scale bot that could have some kind of interaction with his vehicle mode. More thinking time required. Sorry, I've never done that swap myself. I had a quick look at Steamshield's Shapeways but the balljoint measurements aren't listed on all of the heads, might be worth messaging or PM'ing him about it though?
The obvious one would be using an Arms Micron. Sort of like how TFSS used the Sou mode for their Frenzy.
