Witness! Certainly not the first "Mad Max" style Animated Lockdown, but this something I wanted to do since I saw the movie. I decided to go for Slit's look for bot mode, and a Razor Cola inspired paintjob. I may add the tailgunner, and I thought about jacking up the tires, but the foot and leg mechanism made it a lot of trouble, so I stuck to minor, cosmetic mods only (wrist mod and sand off the roof spikes). Let me know what you think.
It would be cooler if you could get the engine block to look like the one in the movie, but this is still shiny and chrome.
That's awesome sir. He came out great. Love the look he has, & that red hook?...nice touch. really eye catching! you still got my addy info right? You making me want to dig out my last LD custom/WIP and finish him now... I can never get enough of this mold. Spoiler (thanks for the nod too sir...much appreciated.)
Thanks all. Agreed. So this was meant to be modified to resemble the movie version, but the mechanics of it, especially around the wheels, proved to be too much for me. I'm more of a simple repainter than a kitbasher, so I kept it simple. Thanks so much. Yours was an inspiration! (Good Cop/ Spoiler B Mad Cop!)
But the Razor Cola was the Black on Black (Max's Interceptor) stripped down to the bare metal. It would be steel-hued with sparse sections of black, not light grey.
I agree, but I made the decision to go with an "inspired by" paintjob rather than screen accurate, and keeping with the Animated Aesthetic. Also there were a couple different versions ranging from shiny bare metal to gray. In researching it, I came across this lego version by Calin, which was beautiful, and kept the clean lines I was looking for. I think if I add the tailgunner and a few other details it may look much better, but that's for another day. Most of my customs are eternally works in progress! Ha! Reliable! Thanks a lot.
