Hey guys, just wanted to share an idea I got for CW Bruticus (and some pics!). So I was looking at my CW Bruticus and thinking that it really needs better cannons... then I looked at my FP Bruticus... thoses are some nice cannons! So I tried to see if the FP cannon backpack could somehow fit on CW Bruticus' back, but unfortunately it didn't. But then I thought, what about the cannons themselves? I unscrewed both sides of the backpack and placed them on his back. They fit OK but they aren't clipped or pegged anywhere. I'm thinking of adding removable 5mm pegs on the inside of the panels to connect them on the back. I'm also debating trying to find an extra or KO FP cannons to mod instead of my originals...
The FansProject addon kit is the gift that keeps on giving back. They scale really well with this larger Bruticus too. Good thinking! And TIL: KO Fansproject guns exist...
Hmmm... after searching I could not find a KO version or just the guns... but I do remember seeing the shotguns from another third party but not the back cannons...
Lol! Thanks for reminding me! I was actually going to try that myself! It's definitely better than the Hotspot guns, but still doesn't look as good as the FP ones, plus the FP ones can still rotate down and shoot forward which is cool (but then again you can lift the back piece to tilt the cannons forward with the others...). They are a little too spread out for my tastes but that can easily be fixed by trimming the pegs. On a plus side, its a good alternative to taking FP Bruticus' cannons away...specially with that expensive new upgrade kit coming out that I'm waiting for... I would definitely want to have both displayed...
I made some crude adapters out of Lego just to try to help hold the FP cannons, unfortunately not as stable as having real 5mm pegs and they are abit too long... Anyways, should give an OK approximation of how it looks. After testing it, my personal opinion is that the best looking way to display the cannons in Onslaught's modes is to have them connected together, but the problem with that is that you'd have to cut out a hole for Bruticus' head and find a way to connect it. Also being able to take the cannons off his back and make him hold it as a gun like FP's Onslaught would be a pretty cool option. I'm not sure if I'd want to cut up my FP cannons...but I'd definitely do it with KO ones, if they exist.
Does everybody like the vehicle mode of Onslaught? I think it would look better if sombody modifies it in order to look like Hotspot but having it look like a HEMTT with 2 howitzer cannons on the back... It's a shame there are no KO FP Crossfire sets
I've been using CW Leader Thundercracker and Skywarp rifles and they work great, but these turned out looking friggin' cool as well. I don't own these, so I gotta work with what I got.
