Transforming Andras was a horrible experience because the ankle ratchets were so hard to move. I mean REALLY hard. After three or four days one of the ankles snapped while I was posing him, I only moved the ankle one ratchet point! This wasn't due to rough handling but ratchets that are too hard for the other parts to withstand the required force. Here I'll show you how to fix it before it happens to yours so you can have your Masterpiece style Scourge and transform him too!

Yes, it looks messy like that (there's is tissue paper stuck to it from blotting the glue) but it doesn't show in any pose. Anyway, here's how to fix it.

Awesome figure and those ankles scare the hell out of me. I do believe I will be applying this to mine.
Thanks for the tut man! Oh, and seeing Johnny caused me to hear his voice shouting "REASSEMBLE" so extra points for the chuckle.

Your post is excellent. Such a pity that customers have to do stuff like this after shelling out large amounts of cash for a bespoke masterpiece figure, though.

That's one of the best tutorials I've seen on here. Clear directions with photos, thanks!

I did this last night. VERY effective. VERY good mod. I will suggest removing a bit less material. I removed just enough to round off the teeth and it worked perfect. Just reassemble and test as you go. :)

I'm glad someone found this useful!

Good idea. If a mod sees this perhaps they can insert this suggestion at point 4 in my post as I don't seem to be able to edit it now and a lot of people won't read all the comments.

Thanks again for posting this tutorial! It worked great for me too.

I agree with the earlier post that merely rounding off the teeth is sufficient to make moving the ratchet tons easier while still giving good support.

Thanks for this tutorial. It’s great. I also cut the heel spring in half, because it was causing a lot of problems too.
