Are you sure guys using Spirit/Alcohol wont damage the figure? I have used them on test/scrap parts on Warhammer parts (yes different plastic I know) and they swelled like they were infected with puss....

I've used nail varnish in the past, not sure what percentage alcohol it is, but it's damaged plastic when I've used it.

Now I use Brasso liquid, which takes a little more time and effort, but doesn't damage the plastic at all. I'd strongly recommend it.

I wouldn't soak the parts, or let it get into any joints where two pieces are still connected. I just put a few drops onto a piece of paper towel and apply plenty of elbow grease.

This is very helpful and informative, thanks!

I will be using this technique (fingers crossed, as I've never done even the smallest bit of customizing to figures before) for "FrankenKup" once I have both the Hasbro and TT versions of TR Kup, because I want his emblem (will use reprolables) to be lower in both modes:

Anyone tried removing the chest insignia on MP-36 Megatron? I want to remove it without damaging the underlying paint, and then replace with a clear-backed insignia from Ocean Designs that have the classic toy insignia style......

I tried windex with and without ammonia on MP Soundwaves symbol and it just looks nice and shiny. Is it not a tampo?

90% or higher isopropyl alcohol or a degreaser agent works with most things TF, go lightly with a Q-tip and you might be able to get the tampo off if it happens to be much thinner than the basecoat. You'll likely do much better stripping the whole part and repainting it or finding a sticker large enough to cover the area

I removed my MP soundwave's symbol with rubbing alcohol and hard application of many q-tips

    always check the tutorial thread

I've been too nervous to try it, but has anyone removed the flame tampos on Classic Cliffjumper's chest? I also want to keep the original red paint underneath.

Do I have to respray the figure or part with sealant after I remove the tampo?

In theory this should work on the “battle damage” on siege figs like crosshairs and Apeface , yes?? Cause the Apeface battle damage is terrible and I hate snapdragon doesn’t have any making Apeface seem out of place almost ..
